I like this possibility, with a small variation: they're trying to figure out how this kid is getting info and fed it to someone they suspect. Someone who probably won't have a job soon. They've figured out how this kid is getting his info, and they're starting to feed him bad tips.
What's funnier than mainstream media being forced to react would be Ben's meeting with John and Larry discussing their strategy on how to out a 14-year old.SemperFidelisSox said:Red Sox leaked a bunch of different 'Cespedes to Team X ' rumors to lower level execs to catch the Jake Weasley source.

Did they bring Eric Van on as a special consultant for insight into how a pedophiles brain works?
Bigpupp said:My guess is the Sox gave out fake information to see who the leaks are coming from. Either that or Jake was full of shit the whole time.

Because it's more fun than making up tired trade ideas here. I want to believe though so I get that it's less fun for the doubters.Hoplite said:Come to the light! I've been baffled for days about why anyone would put stock in anything this kid says.

If the former, doesn't that at least show that he had a legit source inside the organization?
If it was a total fake I don't see him backing out so quickly and unequivocally. He would throw it out then reel it back a bit so he could take credit if it happened.Bigpupp said:My guess is the Sox gave out fake information to see who the leaks are coming from. Exactly. Right now it's "Go Red team" and three SWAT guys are busting in on Wesley's coke-head cousin interning in Hazen's office.
Yeah you guys are giving Jake a lot of credit with this whole "leaking false info to find out the source" narrative. I think he got lucky stealing other people's tweets twice and now that he's in the limelight his tweets are drawing a lot of attention. The big dog journalists who actually have real sources felt threatened and now can shoot down his BS tweets right away.Bigpupp said:My guess is the Sox gave out fake information to see who the leaks are coming from.
