Doesn't make much sense to send Herrera down.  Give Mookie regular AB in Pawtucket.  Keep Herrera up and you may get a contender looking for a utility guy , which would net you a fringe prospect or cash.  Or even package him when decide to start selling.
Ah, but you misunderstand the last few weeks, methinks. Marrero to Pawtucket, Mookie to the show, etc.

The FO wants to see what it has in Mookie -- because there will be some top prospects for sale either at the deadline or in the offseason as the team retools for 2015. Right now I imagine the only untouchable guy in their system is Swihart. They are trying to see where Mookie might range between they'll talk and untouchable.

It won't be long now before the third leg falls into place, incidentally, namely AJP looking for a job or employed elsewhere and Vazquez up in Boston.

I think Carp is up for the same reason Drew still gets to start. They want to maximize the trade value they can get. They need to give Carp semi regular abs to make this work, however. His old team the Mariners has a black hole in Ackley playing LF right now, I wonder if they're a potential match? I wouldn't mind throwing in something to get Ackley back and see if a change of scenery and a more hitter friendly park could get him to be more consistent.
