hockey news:

Assets:

A huge physical specimen at 6-7, 224 pounds, he is most effective when playing a simple, straightforward and physical brand of hockey from the back end.

Flaws:

Needs to become more consistent and reduce his defensive mistakes. Must also crank up his physicality to maximize his potential at the highest level.

Career Potential:

Huge defenseman with some upside.

Great to see they signed a defenseman who needs to work on his defensive mistakes.

Fucking awesome news on the day 30 goals walk out the door.

If only Jacobs would spend to the cap.

And this too(this screams joke, I know its a joke, I'm using it, don't skewer me!)

54thMA, Do you really think this signing is in response to Iggy?  Because that is exactly what you said.  So, since you made that point, how about you explain it

If only Chris Breen wasn't 10th or 11th on the D depth chart right now...

Ah, no I do not think this signing is a response to Iggy leaving.

Are you shitting me assuming the two are related; the only thing that connects the two is that they happened on the same day.

I find it comical that they signed a defenseman who needs to work on his defense, don't you?

There's my explanation; hope you're happy now.

Not really?

I mean google "Dougie Hamilton needs to work on his defense". It'll blow your mind.

Hell, google "'generic defenseman x' needs to work on his defense" and I bet you get a decent return.

He's a bottom pair d-man at Provy. He's 25. He's huge. He's making nothing. If he doesn't pan out no biggie, he's roster filler. But if something somehow clicks...
