I agree that getting out of the Atlantic is the best path but the Canes offense and Rangers goalie are no bargains either.1. FLA 116
2. TOR 108
3. TBL 100
1. CAR 106
2. NYR 106
3. PIT 97
1. BOS 99
2. WSH 97
To be honest, wouldn't mind a well played regulation loss or OTL tonight. TBL plays TOR.
I think WC1 and jumping to the Metro is the best path. I'd rather CAR/NYR than TOR, then PIT/NYR/CAR in round 2.
I don’t care what the numbers say, I don’t want to go against that goalie in the first round. That’s a horrible matchup.Yea, a month or so ago I would've wanted Toronto, but it appears they got over their slump and are 8-1-1 in their last ten. Their GA/G still sucks and I'm sure that's going to cause them lots of issues in the playoffs, but their offense is consistent and they create plenty of opportunities (5th overall xGF%).
The Rangers are my pick for first round opponent - if the Bs can't get past them, they're not going to get by Carolina or Florida. The Rags are due to implode (47.3% xGF, 23rd overall in the league) but I guess it's just a question of when. Given the Bruins sub-par shooting percentage (4.49%, 21st overall) it would be an uphill battle against Shesterkin. But we've seen a few goalies absolutely dominate the regular season and then wilt come playoff time (see: Bobrovsky, Sergei).
Honestly I think they should do one "tune up" game (season finale in Toronto seems like a good pick) and use these remaining games to rest guys up and to sort out the depth chart.
The fact that CROSBY gave him credit after that shift means something.Forbort doing great work here. Three blocks... stick check...
That is a postseason-form backhanded compliment. Let's keep that going into the playoffs.I take back 2 bad things I've said about Forbort
he took it from the people that had been doing it to do it that time. It’s the mother fucking Penguin? Wut??
Also, this thing where instead of collecting passes right at them, fanning completely, leading to soft turnovers and missed rush opportunities. Brutal.I dunno, I think the disappearance of the team’s collective finishing ability might be a worry.
It is clearly a concern. They are making this goalie look like Ken Dryden, circa 1971. We just drill it into his body or miss the net completely.I dunno, I think the disappearance of the team’s collective finishing ability might be a worry.
I’m pretty sure that the best finisher on the team will be ready for the playoffsI dunno, I think the disappearance of the team’s collective finishing ability might be a worry.
This is a meaningless game.It is clearly a concern. They are making this goalie look like Ken Dryden, circa 1971. We just drill it into his body or miss the net completely.
Fifty shots on goal. Fifty. Zero goals. The Bruins aren’t getting to the middle of the ice. Again.I dunno, I think the disappearance of the team’s collective finishing ability might be a worry.
Did they deliberately shoot 52 bad shots then, because they didn’t care about it? Same thing with the PP for a couple weeks?Maybe the game didn’t mean anything?
