Not exactly the sacrifice of Iphigenia, but the 2015 Sox need to draw inspiration from wherever they can find it.

He certainly took his time about getting it done. I thought the diagnosis was graven in stone back in March.

Well how could he have surgery without giving the foolproof PRP a try?!

In all seriousness, I agree these rehabs for partial UCL tears always look bad in retrospect when players end up going under the knife. But it's very hard to judge from the outside because all "partial" UCL tears are definitely not all created equal, and there is so much regarding the physical exam and imaging we can't know from the outside.

I'm sure there was a lot of thought that went into trying the rehab/PRP route first, but obviously in the end, it doesn't look good.

“@MattLangone: Well, that’s it for Brandon Workman. Leaves with apparent injury with a 3-1 count on hitter, no outs and bases loaded.”

“@MattLangone: The Spinners trainer, manager Iggy Suarez and pitching coach Lance Carter came out to check on Workman, then he left game.”

“@MattLangone: For those asking, Brandon Workman’s fastball topped out at 91.”
