Same ranking for me.My ranking would be:
1. Santos
2. Cusick
3. Mcdonough
He's fucking terrible. He's not offensive or a chronic whiner like Kay or Hawk but he sucks.I guess I’m the minority that really likes Dave O’Brien.
There has to be a word stronger than minorityI guess I’m the minority that really likes Dave O’Brien.
And when I did that I often wondered if he was watching the same game I was.Gosh, I never considered anyone else but johnny most. Did anyone else get listened to with the tv volume off?
Sean McMonotone never turned the corner for me. Snoozeville. He's fucking terrible. He's not offensive or a chronic whiner like Kay or Hawk but he sucks.
Unkess there was someone better before my time the answer is clearly Sean.
This is an interesting take. McDonough is pretty universally loved around here and most people really dislike DOB. To each their own, I guess.Sean McMonotone never turned the corner for me. Snoozeville.
Completely agree, although it looks like I'm the only one based on the results so far.Really tough choice among the Red Sox PBP guys. They almost cancel each other out. I went with Coleman in the end. Tremendous voice, great stories, fantastic calls, vivid descriptions, etc.
His call on the final play of the 1990 season when they clinched the division is pretty iconic, and not monotone at all.Monotone is interesting considering his voice cracks on some of his best calls
I miss the days when fans running onto the field was semi-kosherHis call on the final play of the 1990 season when they clinched the division is pretty iconic, and not monotone at all.

Did you watch the MNF highlights I posted? That didn't seem boring to me. Maybe it's because MNF has sucked for several years (quality of matchups).I will admit I base a lot of my McDonough criticism on his MNF work, which was boring and unspectacular. Perhaps I'm too harsh on his baseball PBP.
You should also go out and watch some of his non-Red Sox work too. Lots of great moments to choose from:I will admit I base a lot of my McDonough criticism on his MNF work, which was boring and unspectacular. Perhaps I'm too harsh on his baseball PBP.
Santos had alot of bad days in his last few seasons, as did Gino. I overrated those tough years in my own rankingCusick isn't getting enough love here. He's easily my favorite announcer of all time. I put Santos higher because I think football is harder with so much dead air time that it's easier to suck and harder to stand out, but hockey is such a fast sport and Cusick never had a bad day.

Haha. The 80's ads make that all the more nostalgic. I think there was a temporary "Baybanks" branding when they bought out/merged with a number of other banks.Awesome video at the bottom. Though I still prefer “the heat is on”
Was Baybank called BayBanks previously or was that an error?
And remember when Busch was “smooth?”
Lol
Microbreweries have really improved the baseball and life experience. (And SAM begat all that)
