Bad Windows Update {KB3097877} killing Outlook this morning

There seems to be an issue with one of yesterday's patches from Microsoft, seems to affect all versions of Outlook from 2007 upwards:

Temporary fix is to uninstall the update, and then turn off automatic updates for the time being until Microsoft gets a fix out.

Unfortunately, I can confirm what that article's first commenter wrote. it's causing the exact same problem with Outlook!
