And to think they could have had Manziel!

I love Vinatieri, and he did have a great year, but Ghost was pretty much just as good percentage wise, while scoring more points and kicking outdoors. Also tough to see DeAndre Levy left out.

Gostkowski probably should take it, especially since Vinatieri doesn't handle kickoff duties.

Martin, Koch, and Ryan should be in the conversation for punter as well.

Vinatieri was perfect before the final week of the season, and was only 2 quarters away from becoming only the 4th K to do so. I'm guessing a lot of voters still had that in their mind.

Zach Martin ... best first-round pick?
You'd face some argument re OBJ, and it would be reasonable.

But Woody expressed the opinion that ZM in his rookie year is the best guard in the NFL, period.

Seems to me you can't go wrong with either.

Nice to see Gronk was unanimous.

Watt is first team (45 DE votes) and second team (5 DT votes)

And Dan Connolly got a vote! As did guys like Iupati, Clady, James Carpenter....

I never thought I'd see the day when two Cowboys offensive linemen would make the All-Pro team (with a third making the second team). I always imagined Jerruh would be six feet underground long before something like that even became a remote possibility.

Fun fact: it seems JJ Watt made the first team as a defensive end and the second team as a defensive tackle.

I realize that's likely a typo, but it's funny nonetheless.

And all JJ had to do is just let his people do their jobs. How many years pissed away? But better late than never.

That's the sad part. I really think Jimmy Johnson was both the best and worst thing that could have happened to that franchise. He not only brought three titles to town, but his pissing match with Jerruh also led to nearly 20 years of floundering about trying to prove a point.

But that's neither here nor there. Back to your regularly-scheduled Gronk splooge-fest.

If you look at the voting, he got 45 votes as a DE and 5 as a DT (making it onto all 50 ballots) - so he did indeed make All-Pro at both positions.

I'm surprised Watt wasn't second team Tight End.

I know you're joking but TE was the only position with no second team as every vote went to Gronk.

This thread makes me wonder how many people have me on ignore.

And how many All-Pro voters have very little clue. Marshawn Lynch got a FB vote...

Ha. Sorry, I started typing up my post and got distracted by work, so I didn't see that your post had popped up. Totally my fault.

Well, mental crisis averted.

Anyway, this basically guarantees Rodgers or Watt win MVP, right? With maybe Gronk with an outside shot? I went back til 1980, and if a QB won MVP he was also the All-Pro that year, which eliminates Romo who IMHO should really be in the conversation.
