Game 128
Wednesday night’s game left all our heads spinning.
We got mad at Sale at the beginning,
calmed when we tied things in the fourth inning,
feared for Kenley (our playoff hopes thinning),
cheered Nick and Adam who left us grinning,
proving that giving up would be sinning,
bringing us back today for more winning.
Get 2 in a row. We’ll call in “twinning.”

JP France has been lucky this season (2.75 ERA, 4.39 xERA, 4.53 xFIP). Lets have today be the day the regression fairies show up.

I might as well put this here, too...

Brayan Bello has made 15 starts at night & 6 during the day this season. He will be on the mound for Boston this afternoon.

Night stats: 2.63 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, 9-3 record
Day stats: 7.33 ERA, 1.70 WHIP, 0-4 record

Brayan Bello - confirmed vampire.

Red Sox closer Kenley Jansen said he feels good today and he’ll see how the hamstring feels in the coming days. He sounded confident he’d be able to avoid the IL. He talked about this being a crucial time and wanting to be out there

I would very much like a win today.

Every game counts.

The playoffs are STILL in reach.

Bello starts are games they need to win.

Winning is fun.

The Dodgers are coming to town, along with Mookie.

That shouldn't matter; but it does to me.

Last night was fun.

Fun sure is fun.

More fun today, please.

Millar thinks every second that DOB is not talking means he should be talking.
I have enjoyed Millar at times this season, but this series is kind of him at his worst: two-man booth, team is scuffling and in the hunt of a playoff spot. So he feels the need to say something relevant and leans way too hard into "ballplayer talk" feels, hunches and aw shucks-isms and pretty much no insight into the game itself.

He is really good in small doses such as his MLB TV show.

Kinda crazy that they got him AND Valdez for a few months of Vasquez? (or a year and a half of Vasquez?)

I like Millar. That bit about pretty lefty swings but not righty except for Manny was right on. Speaking of lefty hitters with a pretty swing, Abreu! Where is Casas though?

Millar is fine when he's kept in check. I actually like him when he was with another color commentator. But when it's just him and DOB, he can ramble too much.
