Good start by Barnes so far, like really good.
Also it seems that Brentz is back with the PawSox, hopefully he can hit a bit and make something of this hitherto(don't believe I've ever used that word in a sentence) lost season for him.

Edit:Barnes pulled after 7 hitless innings, 10 SO, 2 BB

Initial word from Barnes' 7 no-hit innings with 10 Ks: fastball up to 97, swing-and-miss curve on display gave him dominant 3-pitch mix

He was at 106 pitches, but left with just a 1-0 lead. Celestino started the 8th and promptly gave up the tying run on three straight singles.

Still 1-1, heading to the b-10th.

Just saw that Bryan Price pitched tonight for Columbus.

Yes, that Bryan Price, the 2008 sandwich pick out of Rice sent to the Indians along with Hagadone & Masterson in the V-Mart trade 5 years ago this week. He's a ripe old 27 years of age now, has spent most of the past 3 seasons at AAA and parts of the last 5 with AA Akron, and he still hasn't gotten a call-up to the majors.

Anyway, 1.2 scoreless IP on 1 H & 2 K.

Sam Travis might end up being a quick riser.  Advanced college bat.

He start at Salem next year?

He had a wretched July (.209/.303/.358/.661). Let's hope he's back on track for good.

Most of that was just bad luck.  The ISO (.149) and a 7/10 BB/K rate both suggested he was putting up good at bats in July.  He just had a shitty BABIP - .218 by my quick math.
