Unfortunately Hoppe might have been over-hyped after catching Sikes' dinger. Started his outing with Four hits and three runs before logging his second out. This follows a great outing by Dobbins, who gave up just 3 hits and a walk in 6 efficient innings. He threw just 74 pitches despite notching 6 k.

Sikes (hr, single), Campbell (double, bb), Teel (2 singles) and McDonough (single, bb) are hot. Mayer and Anthony (7 k, 1 single in 10 AB) are not. Game is currently in the 8th.

Edit: Add Blaze and Paulino to the "hot" column. By game's end, both guys had hit a double and a single. They each scored a run and knocked in 2 rbi.

In Woostah, some interesting performances in a 4-1 loss to the Red Wings.

Yorke continues to be red hot, with 2 singles and a walk. This raises his BA and OPS to 0.330 and 0.930, respectively. Lugo added 2 singles of his own.

This dude Gasper, a 28 (almost 29) y/o catcher, jumped on the singles train too, adding one in his 2 AB (Hickey pinch-ran and didn't do anything in his two AB). Gasper's got a 0.386/1.139 BA/OPS in 81 PA. Perusing his FG page, Dude has had some great offensive numbers over the years in limited opportunities. I assume his defense must be awful or maybe he's never healthy.

Speed skating superhero Alvarez, Nico "big bat" Kavadas, "I rarely chase" Meidroth, "I'm kind of a big deal" Sogard, and Bobby Fuckin' Dalbec combined for 1 hit, 1 walk, and 5 k in 19 PA.

No pitching performances of interest to me in this one.
