Stepping in for JM3 temporarily as he recovers from kicking too much ass in this forum lately.

DSL Red have a double header so lots of games on the docket now that Bare Minimum Monday is over. There presumably will be starting pitchers but so far only Bradley “Georgia Beef”* Blalock is listed for Greenville. Will update as more info rolls in as to whom we will be celebrating throughout the day:
  • DSL Red Sox Red (Luis Jerez/TBD) @ DSL Tigers 2 x2, 10am and whenever game 2 of the DH kicks off, presumably right after
  • DSL Red Sox Blue (Obed Balderas) vs. DSL Pirates Gold (good name, kudos), 11am
  • FCL Sox @ FCL Pirates, 12pm
  • A: Salem (Gabriel Jackson) vs. Lynchburg, 7:05pm
  • A+: Greenville (Blalock) @ Bowling Green, 7:35pm
  • AA: Portland (CJ Liu) @ Richmond, 6:35pm
  • AAA: Worcester (Bearclaw) vs. Rochester in a battle for pronunciation supremacy, 6:45 pm

I did not realize that Red Sox scoreboard thing was an option. Seems like we're all going to learn a lot from Jed :)

Worcester’s game has been postponed.

In better news, the 1st inning for Salem saw Cutter Coffey lead off with a walk, a steal, followed by an RBI 2b by his draft buddy Mikey Romero. Salem lead 3-0 early.

CJ Liu has a tidy 5 Ks through 3 but has yielded 2 runs on 4 hits and 2 walks.

Edit: 2 more strikeouts in a clean 4th. Bats have been silent outside of a Mayer line drive single in the 1st.

Cutter continues to maybe have something, going deep in the 6th for his 5th of the season.

Edit: He later adds his 15th error, however.

In the 7th, Greenville puts up a 4-spot featuring an Anthony walk, singles for Castro and Bonaci, and a 2b for Rosario. A 27 year old named Casey Cobb gave a few back in the bottom of the frame, however.

The starter Blalock had a nice outing, 5.1 with 7k and just 1er on 4h/2bb. His ERA through 6 starts for the Drive is down to 2.97 with 33 Ks through 30.1 IP.

Portland drops a laugher 6-0, scattering 4 singles between Mayer, Meidroth, Hickey, and Dearden. Liu struck out 7 but gave up 5 on 6h/3bb over 4.1.

Salem wins 6-1. Romero 1-4 with a 2b, Coffey 1-4 with a bb and the aforementioned HR. Alexis Hernandez was 2-4 with a HR. Gabriel Jackson went 5 strong with 2Ks yielding a single run. 2022 7th rounder Caleb Bolden closed it out with 2 hitless and scoreless innings, walking 3 but striking out 2. He has 63 strikeouts in 41 innings for Salem this season.

Casey Cobb is one of the few people in the Red Sox org who are so not promising they were intentionally omitted from my top 201 list.

Thx for doing this. Spent most of the day in urgent care.

FCL Sox won 4-3.

JOHANFRAN was 2-5 with a double.

Willian Colmenares pitched for the 1st time this season. He didn't pitch well, allowing 2 runs in 2 innings, but good to him out there after a pretty decent DSL season last year.

The 18 y/o from Trujillo, VZ signed for $125k in January '22.
