The fact that the ball he missed deflected right to Valdez was luck. Then the next grounder went right under him because he has no range at all.
Just watched the replay and strongly disagree with your take. Casas was holding the runner and the ball was fucking scalded. Casas did well to get a glove on it

i know this team is frustrating but the scorer giving casas an error was horse shit as are the criticisms in this thread

Casas has zero range. He's not good at all. Which is OK for a power hitting first baseman. Which he isn't, yet.

I don't think the bullpen is as bad as it seems sometimes, but it's still not good enough for a bullpen game.

If I squint watching the game on my phone without my glasses, it’s easy to confuse the uniforms for the opposite teams in which case, the Sox don’t look so bad.
