Tough loss but still a chance to win the series before we face Atlanta. Gil on the hump looking to show a bit more control than he did against Boston. Lets go Yankees!

Going to my first ever MFY game at the Toilet today. Go Birds! Brought my Sox cap on principle, but — wuss that I am — will keep it under wraps and wear my Kintestu Buffaloes cap instead.

Chicken bucket is the best deal but steak sandwiches are pretty good at lobels. Domestic beer is reasonably priced. One of my favorite things to do to breakup sitting down in the same seat the whole time is get a beer in center field and watch an inning from there on top of the delta lounge. I'm in the minority here thinking that stadium food prices are good for the most part because you're getting the equivalent of a restaurant meal for <$20 on half the menus. and a mega beer for $14 aint bad either.

Regarding the sox cap, literally nobody will bother you other than some side eyes and grins. If you sat in the heart of the bleachers, maaaaayyybe they'd call you an asshole but I think those days are mostly behind us when the teams aren't playing each other.

Thanks for the tips, MC! It's a scorcher today, so any suggestion that involves escaping my seat for a bit is welcome. Going with a work contingent consisting of four Yankees fans, one Birds fan, and me, so I suspect I'll be insulated enough to bust out the Sox cap, at least for a photo-op...

“ Luis Gil's 1.1 inning start ends a streak of 76 games where their starter went at least 4 innings which was the longest in franchise history.”

Gleyber out mid-game with a 'tight right groin', would not miss him one bit.

This game a wake-up call for the front office. Injuries have decimated the bullpen. Can they fix it? Who would Cashman give up for a reliable reliever or two?

When a pitcher gets lit up like Gil did today, coaches have to go to the video. Was he tipping his pitches?

Orioles have some swagger. They are young and own a deep roster.

Bottom of the 9th, still alive.

Quick TD, recover an onsides kick, another TD, 19-17 win.

Easy!!

Ugh, it is so painful when you know the winning run is just 13 batters away in the 9th. So close!!!

10-12 now against the AL East, some major bullpen and infield problems.

That's five series NY has lost this year now, 4 to the AL East (BAL 2, TOR, BOS) and the Dodgers without Soto.

Is catching part of the infield? Seems to be a problem, too. I like Wells as a backup catcher. Trevino is having a very solid offensive season but his defense is in a slump.

I'm not up on relievers around the league. Who's available? Everyone keeps bringing up Miller in Oakland, but that's likely not happening barring a massive overpay.

Trading for relievers rarely works out well, NY has Effross finally on a rehab assignment so he should hopefully be available in a couple of weeks.

For tomorrow, they will probably send down Marinaccio and bring up Yoendrys Gomez, who has been on the 40 man for years and who will be on full rest after throwing 72 pitches on Sunday.

NY also has this 6'8" kid Jack Neely who just got promoted to AAA, he looks exciting from all reports.

Moving the Line
Today is only the second game I could find in the Divisional Era for the Yankees where they allowed at least one run in eight different innings, joining June 29, 2002, when the Mets did so.

BAL did that to Zach Wheeler last week too, hit four HRs off him. They are scary.
