I thought everyone was wearing 6 patches this season. The Cs are wearing Bill Russell's #6 on their jerseys. You do not lose a game seven while wearing Bill Russell's number.
Yeah:: I don’t think Foster calls as much of the flopping that Butler does.I would think that Brothers and Foster let them play, which would be in favor of the team that is a) going to be flying around on defense and b) not full of flopping pieces of shit. Scott Foster take us to the promised land.
According to b-ref Brothers called a higher number of fouls than average in the regular season but lower than average in the postseason, so maybe he’ll swallow his whistle a bit too.Yeah:: I don’t think Foster calls as much of the flopping that Butler does.
To have any chance against Denver you have to get used to the altitude… so they have to plan ahead.. but that doesn’t mean Joe shouldn’t print it out and say.. they think they’ve already won.Probably makes sense, but love this leaking:

Was there a tendon suture done in the lockerroom, and what is the post-COVID status of having any visible blood?
What was Bill Russell's record in Game 7s? Anyone know? The Cs are wearing Bill Russell's #6 on their jerseys. You do not lose a game seven while wearing Bill Russell's number.
One of my favorite Belichick moments was when he shared the Philly parade details with the Pats before the 2004 SB and did it in such a BB way.To have any chance against Denver you have to get used to the altitude… so they have to plan ahead.. but that doesn’t mean Joe shouldn’t print it out and say.. they think they’ve already won.
He never lost one. What was Bill Russell's record in Game 7s? Anyone know?
What it boils down to for me is White is your best guard on the roster, and he’s young. If Brogdon takes a few of Marcus’s minutes here or there if/when Jimmy rests, fine. If he takes a single second of White’s time and is out there the final 5 minutes, I’m totally against that. Was there a tendon suture done in the lockerroom, and what is the post-COVID status of having any visible blood?
Indeed, 10-0, is the answer. Played 10 game sevens, won 10 game sevens. One of my favorite parts of his legend, because it suggests that sports isn't just a random number generator. He never lost one.
I feel this was rhetoricalWhat was Bill Russell's record in Game 7s? Anyone know?
Young compared to who? White and Smart were born 4 months apart. What it boils down to for me is White is your best guard on the roster, and he’s young.
Seems tough to say that without knowing how the game goes though, no? Hell, Celtics could be running out the clock. Or maybe Brogdon is 3 of 4 from deep and playing well.If he takes a single second of White’s time and is out there the final 5 minutes, I’m totally against that.
Exactly. "Cleared to play" doesn't mean he'll be the first guy off the bench or get a ton of minutes. If he's relatively healthy they could use his scoring, but I would hope he doesn't really sniff crunch time unless others get in foul trouble or he's really hot.Joe had a short leash with Brogdon in Game 5. I don't think he's going to fuck around with him if he clearly has nothing tonight.
Oh I'm sure Jose knows, as do most of you. I just like bringing it up. Can't happen too often, certainly not today.I feel this was rhetorical
Exactly. Just messes with Miami's planning a bit.Exactly. "Cleared to play" doesn't mean he'll be the first guy off the bench or get a ton of minutes. If he's relatively healthy they could use his scoring, but I would hope he doesn't really sniff crunch time unless others get in foul trouble or he's really hot.
This is exactly the problem, this team doesn’t really do that. It’s basically always Brogdon/Smart/Al/Brown/Tatum close and late.Seems tough to say that without knowing how the game goes though, no? Hell, Celtics could be running out the clock. Or maybe Brogdon is 3 of 4 from deep and playing well.
On the other hand Tatum has come up pretty huge in every elimination game. I expect the garden will be extremely loud tonight.I can't escape the feeling that frittering away a 3-0 series lead only to pull out G7 would be maddeningly consistent with the entire 2023 Heat experience (nearly falling out of the postseason altogether, rallying to beat the Bulls in the second play-in game). Damn them.
I almost posted that but wasn't sure how to spell his nameIf it messes with Miami planning why no do the same with Dani?
Because under no circumstances would anyone associated with the Heat believe for a second that a 34 year old, 9 months out from an ACL tear, would actually get his first minutes with his new team in a Game 7.If it messes with Miami planning why no do the same with Dani?
Oh, I know. There a reason Boston is -300. Several of them in fact. But you can't let them get in the way of a little sheer irrational panicking....On the other hand Tatum has come up pretty huge in every elimination game. I expect the garden will be extremely loud tonight.
Yeah I'm not seeing the downside here. He played 7:55 and was 0-2 from the field in Game 5, before Joe pulled him for being obviously injured and ineffective. That's the floor for game 7, and it's definitely worth it to see if he has recovered enough to do what he did against Philly (over 50% from 3!) or the regular season (third best scorer on the team and arguably their best 3 point shooter). The fact that they won game 6 by the skin of their teeth doesn't mean they didn't miss Brogdon a lot.It will be shocking if Brogdon is given run, looks bad and is kept in the game.
I am sorry Mazzulla-has-to-go-under-any-circumstances people - this has been a terrible week for you. But you can't really get mad at future decisions until they actually happen.
Let's see what Brogdon has and if its additive. This is a do or die game so its hard to see any coach letting a poor matchup beat you. If Brogdon doesn't offer anything he will likely play about as much as G5.
Would love to see him come out of the gates like the last game 7. IOW score 20 pts without hitting a 3!On the other hand Tatum has come up pretty huge in every elimination game. I expect the garden will be extremely loud tonight.
I NEED A BRICK WALL BECAUSE I’M READY TO RUN THROUGH IT
Bill needed "HAVLICEK STOLE THE BALL " to secure one of them and Wilt taking himself out of the game for a good part of the fourth period to secure another. All part of the legend though.Indeed, 10-0, is the answer. Played 10 game sevens, won 10 game sevens. One of my favorite parts of his legend, because it suggests that sports isn't just a random number generator.
And his best of all? How about 1962 vs. LA.Bill needed "HAVLICEK STOLE THE BALL " to secure one of them and Wilt taking himself out of the game for a good part of the fourth period to secure another. All part of the legend though.
Jesus, White actually caught the ball for the briefest time and then put it in, instead of just tipping it back up. That could have run out the clock. We are so
Those rebound totals that Russell (and Wilt) logged game after game were just incredible. And his best of all? How about 1962 vs. LA.
