8:30 on a Thursday that crowd is going to be drunk and rowdy. If the Celtics come out hot that atmosphere is going to be wild. Fueled by 2004, 28-3, and Bud Light. I’d love to see how Gabe Vincent and Caleb Martin shoot as the pressure mounts.
I am hoping the ankle is a real problem for Vincent. Hea got his 5 minutes, I’d be fine if he doesn’t play another game this season

Miami’s scrubs were fucking useless once their three point shooting inevitably crashed back down to Earth. Keep making it hard on them and they’re not doing shit. Butler might very well win a game on his own but like I’ve been saying it’s not often the more talented team goes down 0-3 while healthy. This could get interesting.

Feel like the two plays of the game were the Jaylen steal and the White block.

It. All. Starts. With. Defense.
To me the point I felt like we would definitely win was when Joe took the timeout and the Celtics came out and diced up the zone and made Spo drop it. The zone has been his spammed cheat code against us at times, and getting not just buckets, but ones out of the correct process was huge.

Kenny Smith with a really galaxy brained take…apparently Game 5 is actually tougher than Game 4 because people will be congratulating them on not being swept and that will make them lose?

Papi and Edelman at game 5.

saving Brady and a shocking return to Boston for Larry Bird for game 7. (“Fuck Pat Riley” said Larry about his decision to attend)

In the press conference, I’d love to see Mazzulla harp on the fact that Tatum only got to the line for two FTs on 22 shots, but Butler got 12 FTs on his 21 shots.

I mean I guess I see where he’s coming from. Just happy to not be swept so the effort isn’t there the next game. I guess we’ll see.

Yeah – and he brought Tatum in to be the guy to break it. That foul line shot kind of killed it.

I legitimately have 0 idea what Kenny Smith is talking about….I might be distracted by his awful glasses but I don’t think I am

If I squint you can kind of see it but the way he framed it was that because they are going home, the crowd will be congratulating them so much that they didn’t get swept that they will lose focus and lose the game.

They may lose but it’s not going to be because the crowd cheered them on so much that it lulled them into a false sense of security

Took care of the ball after the first quarter, hit their open looks, and played much better defense. That’s one. Go get the next one on Thursday

Yeah I don’t think Boston fans are going to give them participation trophy cheers for making it to Game 5. The Garden will be electric if they come out strong and vicious if they lay an egg.

I’ll be in the building on Thursday. I can guarantee you that I will have no voice on Friday. I’ll leave it all out there for the team. If the 2nd half team from tonight shows up Thursday…

Here
Barkley: “You don’t get a cookie for not getting swept.”

Does say the Celtics will win Game 5 easily. And Game 6 will be Game 7 for Miami.
This is all such bullshit. Boston is 11-12 at home last year and this in the playoffs. Boston is cruising Games 5 and 7?

Will say before the game even ended all the gambling people said Celtics will be significant favorites in 5 and 7 with 6 as a tossup.

I think what Charles is saying is that there would be so much pressure on the Heat and it would be in a hostile environment…. so they want to do all that they can to not get to that point.

i can never complain about those guys. They are so far ahead of everyone else
great entertainment... terrible basketball analysis. Not a single person on there watches more games than the ones they cover and none of them are up on modern basketball.

Grant Williams was great tonight. Really played well defensively and hit some big 3s. Say what you want about him but he brings a different type of energy off the bench that they really need. He is a fairly versatile defender, which is a very valuable asset this time of year. He should be first off the bench in game 5.

Of all the Mazzula complaints, many that I disagree with, this is my biggest one. The way he buried Grant in the regular season and early in these playoffs was terrible. Grant was important last year and most thought he would be needed this year. I think it is doubly bad that he gave so many of those minutes to Hauser and then buried him as well. The regular season should have been used to get the rotations ready for the playoffs.

This doesn’t take absolve Grant of some of the blame because he certainly went into a funk. I just think they should have let him play his way through it a little more.

One of the biggest things I noticed being there in person was how restrained the Cs were arguing calls. They did complain but not during the flow of the game. It was during timeouts and when there were media breaks. It was noticeable.

Oh and nice to see them actually miss shots.
