Going to go out on a limb & say Criswell is not starting for Worcester today, considering he pitched 5 scoreless for Boston 2 days ago.

Pretty sure it's Nick Pivetta today.

Romy's in an interesting spot, with all the new guys they brought in this week it feels like there's no space for him any more, but I think he offers more upside than Short?

Yeah, I'm having a hard time understanding this Short deal, other than that it was for the proverbial bag of balls. Between Valdez, Romy, and frankly Reyes, I'd be surprised if Short moves the needle.

I think Short is just a short-term play to fill a short-lived need for a shortstop to provide short-range flexibility & potentially a short-side platoon bat.

There's almost no opportunity cost as the bottom of our 40 is filled with fungible guys & they didn't even have to trade a D-level prospect to get him.

BVB ended up pitching 4 scoreless, hitless innings allowing 1 walk & striking out 3.

Melvin Adón pitched a 1-2-3 9th with 2 strikeouts.

WooSox still lost 7-1.

Walking 9 times, getting 6 hits, & only scoring once is impressively inefficient.

Nathan Hickey was 2-4 with a walk.

Sansone retired 9 of the 10 hitters he faced & struck out 3 (unfortunately the other guy hit a solo homer).

Royman Blanco allowed a hit & struck out 3 in a scoreless 9th to pick up his 1st save & Salem won 5-3.
