It’s funny that without unprecedented pitching - this May record is what I would expect from the team.
We were fooled.

Being bad this year is honestly best case scenario. Be at the bottom of the league for 3/4 years and actually build talent.
That’s what Baltimore did and it’s been very good for them. Just be absolutely atrocious for two or three years, pick 1/1 and profit.

I am also tired of Cora, I know the press loves him but his teams have sucked fundamentally for three years, I think most of that is roster construction but maybe a new voice is needed.

MLB has a draft lottery now, there are no guarantees that you’re getting a top pick. Oakland was horrendous last year, they are picking fourth in the 2024 draft.

Cora’s days were numbered coming into the season. With no contract after this year he’s a lame duck anyway, and I wouldn’t put it past FSG to can him a few months early just to make it look like they still care and are doing something so they can sell a few more tickets.

“I feel good about the home runs but at the same time, we’re not winning so it’s bittersweet,” Devers said. “The swing feels good but if we’re not winning, it’s just pointless.”

Miami (oh, Miami!)
This is one of the more impressive bunch of world-is-ending hot-takes I've seen since the nursing home went short on tapioca pudding.

The offense is the problem. They need to fix it.

But is there any basis for confidence in their ability to do so?

I will always respect what Henry did but I am beginning to loathe FSG. I feel like they are taking our money and giving us a terrible product.
All they care about is to rip off people wanting to see Fenway. They couldn’t even give the Jimmy Fund its own day. They shared Fenway with a card show with a $25 entry fee and more tours where they didn’t even really use the main concourse. Greedy pigs are FSG.
