I was chatting with Chris Hatfield about the Red Sox starter rotation in A, A+ & AA and he made the very good point that the pitchers are likely doing some sort of simulated game or lab work on the Monday when they go from the Tuesday start one week to the Sunday start next week.

Would be really cool if they got the 3 pitchers togerher for some sort of competitive event somehow. Like Wehunt, JDE & Coffey were having a pitching contest somewhere on Monday.

But it seems like a great opportunity for them to work through stuff with active feedback. Maybe I'll look at how the pitchers do on their Tuesday start compared to how they do the next Sunday sometime soon.

That's after I do a ton of actual work & update rankings, though...

Greenville lost 8-4, though.

Campbell didn't start the game, Ahbram Liendo did... he actually led it off with a homer... but Campbell pinch hit for him in the 5th. Hope Liendo is OK.

Tyler Miller was 1-3 with a double & a walk.

Juan Chacon was 1-3 with a hbp & a steal.

Miguel Ugueto was 1-3 with a walk.

Bryan Gonzalez was 0-2 with a walk & a sac fly.

The bullpen was f bad, though.

Reidis Sena, who is no LDLR, in his 1st game back from injury allowed 3 ER on 3 hits & a walk in 1.1 IP & now has a 19.29 ERA on the season.

Conor Steinbaugh wasn't much better - 3 ER in 1.2 IP.

WooSox got a quality start from Grant Gambrell earlier today:

Unlike Greenville, their bullpen did fine, though.

Jorge Benitez struck out 3 & allowed a hit in a scoreless 7th.

Sal Romano pitched a 1-2-3 8th.

& Luis Guerrero may have allowed a run in the 9th... but he did get it up to 100.

WooSox won 5-2.

Hoppe came in next & had one of his more successful outtings of the year, but still not throwing strikes (18 in 34 pitches).

2.1 IP scoreless with 1 hit, 2 bb & 3k is nice, though.

Jacob Webb pitched a scoreless 8th with 2 strikeouts & a hbp.

Portland up 6-3.

I try to bring good news at least occasionally...

Teel was 2-4 with a homer, a walk & 4 RBI.

Roman was 0-2 with 3 walks.

Mayer was 1-5 with a double & 3 rbi.

Blaze was 2-4 with a walk.

Eddy P was 1-2 with 2 walks, a double & a steal. I need to find time to update my rankings almost entirely to see if he will be TOP 10.

Gasper was 1-3 with a walk & 2 steals.

Lugo was 1-4 with a steal.

Sikes was 0-2 with 2 walks.
