Thanks Salem for the feedback. I am an expert on Orr Sanderson Smith Hodges Bucyk Cashman Cheevers etc, but dont have any irons in the fire anymore, so one more question. Are the Bruins good enough this year to go deep in the playoffs? Thanks again.
To add to the chorus, absolutely. They're a top 5 team in both goals for (okay, they're just barely 6th right now) and goals allowed, as well as a top 5 team in both PP and PK. They're insanely deep and the whole squad's possession numbers are at least good if not outstanding. They have a goalie who, when on, can absolutely steal games. There's a reason why this team was destroying the league for a couple of months when they were all healthy. And they appear to be in good shape for starting the playoffs. (Please no injuries today.)
That's not to say they're invulnerable. They can get over-aggressive and have had lapses at times. The young and bottom-pairing defensemen can be susceptible in their own zone. But there really isn't a single point of failure on this team - unlike last year, where they lived and died by the output of the Bergeron line. It was very rare this year for this team, when mostly healthy, to be completely out of a game. That said, they have two divisional rivals who are also very good teams, and hopefully as of today's result they will get to miss one of them. This may be the hardest path to the ECF ever.
