Franchy. Tie game. As Boone says, Franchy has easy power. The CF took one look and stopped running.

Hicks caught one of those three Texas Leaguers. Cabrera would have had them all without having to leave his feet.
IKF too, easy to see why he is the normal backup CF over Hicks but NY is too shorthanded today.

Holmes leaves them loaded in ninth.

With all the sudden injuries, this was a great team win. Torres and his sore hip score winning run.

So, I guess with Franchy viable in the OF, Cabrera is the super utility guy that plays every day all over, IKF is the utility guy that plays part time, mostly when there is an injury, and Hicks is probably should be gone when Bader gets back? Or something like that?

I think basically, and Calhoun is probably gone when Donaldson is back. IKF being better in CF than Hicks makes Hicks even more worthless. The question is how much they’ll be willing to play Franchy in the big LF after Bader is back.

Nice win! Tying run off Stephan, winning run off Clase, fourth series win in a row.

I'll be heavily traveling the next couple of weeks for work so pardon my absence here. I haven't been able to watch a game start to finish yet.

NY plays MIN the next 4 days and then has Monday off, so they could and should skip Schmidt. They could send him down for Weissert like they did Brito for Hamilton earlier, they shouldn't need a fifth starter for ten days.

Also Florial could push himself back into the picture here, two homers last night in his first game back in AAA since no one claimed him.

This is better than I thought, but they should still send him down to try to get more locked in, Matt Krook is on the 40 man and hasn’t pitched since 4/6 (3 scoreless on 32 pitches), and he would be a second lefty and could be another longer option for a bullpen game.

I will actually be surprised if that doesn’t happen, seems like they’ve been setting it up for when NY is back home tomorrow.

“While it wasn’t the prettiest stat line, Schmidt did a good job negating hard contact, as Rosario’s home run was the only hit he allowed that had an exit velocity higher than 73 mph.”
