There was a rule change this year that a pitcher that is warming up has to come in.
This to me reads that a pitcher who warms up on the mound between innings has to face a batter, not a guy who warmed in the bullpen. Otherwise how do they handle two pitchers warming up?The final rule that MLB pushed through was that any pitcher who warms up must face at least one hitter. This would address the times that teams send out a pitcher to warm up, such as a starting pitcher or reliever, who would be pulled as soon as the batter was announced. This could've been due to the strategy of forcing the opponent's hand to waste a batter or another factor. Instead, any pitcher that warms up MUST face at least one batter while staying in compliance with the Three Batter Minimum Rule. Reportedly, there were 24 instances of this happening where a pitcher warmed up but was pulled before throwing a pitch. Plus, there were two instances of it in the World Series between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Texas Rangers. This change was made to eliminate approximately three minutes of dead time.
Me too. It keeps a team from warming up a guy on the mound before the inning, then pulling him with the other team sends up a PHI thought the rule was pitchers who were warming up before the inning.
Whenever I think of what Trevor Story looks like, I think of Chris Sale. The beard doesn't help.At least Story’s beard looks good.
I mean I might have fucked it up, but that’s how I understood the new rule. This to me reads that a pitcher who warms up on the mound between innings has to face a batter, not a guy who warmed in the bullpen. Otherwise how do they handle two pitchers warming up?
I am pretty sure your reading of it is wrong. It makes no sense.I mean I might have fucked it up, but that’s how I understood the new rule.
Yes, that makes a lot more sense. This to me reads that a pitcher who warms up on the mound between innings has to face a batter, not a guy who warmed in the bullpen. Otherwise how do they handle two pitchers warming up?
Hopefully swinging at a changeup from the pitching machine didn't fuck up his shoulder.I really don’t get not going to Kenley here
Truth:The new rule can't possibly be a pitcher warming in the pen must come in. That is fucking ridiculous.
That's not what was being said in this thread, though. Moviegoer was responding to something different. This rule makes sense.Truth:
"A pitcher who is sent to the mound to warm up between innings must now face at least one batter."
Has to face three batters. That is definitely a rule.If that’s not the rule, why the fuck is Rodriguez facing a righty?
