Eh you watch all the Syracuse games too you should be used to it.That was such a bad basketball game between UConn and PC. I can’t believe I watched the whole thing.
They can win in so many ways which is so encouraging. Spencer and Newton mostly struggled but Castle stepped up big time. He was great on both ends of the floor.I wondered earlier in the year if Connecticut could improve enough in defense and rebounding to win when the shots weren’t falling. A game like tonight’s makes it tough to draw any conclusions, but they hung in there on defense during stretches when they couldn’t get points. So, pretty positive. Unfortunately, a huge factor in the win was that Providence just could not make their free throws, which is really more about what they didn’t do well than what Connecticut did well. Still, a win is a win. What an awful game, though, except for result.
Ha yeah but UConn is so much better than syracuse it’s not funny. SU plays that way because they have to.Eh you watch all the Syracuse games too you should be used to it.
He did, looking at the box score, but in truth it was hard to tell in real time because of how choppy the game was. Nice that they can find answers when needed. During the game I was struck by how every time Providence seemed about to catch up, they would miss a free throw. UConn doesn’t have the reputation of having one of the more famous on campus arenas but that home crowd can really help in games like that one. I think they have changed the mix of students and donors or they have put the louder fans closer to the game, because it has been noticeable in recent years. They can win in so many ways which is so encouraging. A little I guess. When a top 20 team shoots as well as Creighton did last night, yeah you’re gonna lose. But if that’s what it’ll take to beat UConn, they’re in pretty good shape. This shooting nights won’t happen very often. Not sure if wagons have brakes, but if they do I guess we need to pump them.
And UCONN shot 18% from 3.A little I guess. When a top 20 team shoots as well as Creighton did last night, yeah you’re gonna lose. But if that’s what it’ll take to beat UConn, they’re in pretty good shape. This shooting nights won’t happen very often.
I agree, but would also point out that these type of hot shooting nights by good teams happen all the time in the tournament. Hopefully, this will be a good learning experience as to how to still be competitive against teams shooting like that.A little I guess. Yes for sure. UConn definitely can lose. It'll just take a tremendous effort by a really good opponent to beat them. We've seen that happen many times in the NCAA tournament, but last night doesn't do anything in my mind to remove UConn from the top of the list of who can win the tournament.I agree, but would also point out that these type of hot shooting nights by good teams happen all the time in the tournament. UConn won't be playing any road games in the NCAA tournament. They also won't likely have a game where they shoot 18% from three while the other team shoots 50% (and it was like at 60% when the game was still in doubt) from three at high volume.Glad I didn't watch. Those are the kinds of performances (team's at home, crazy crowd, shoot the lights out) that result in me overrating a team when it comes to picking my brackets.
Was talking about Creighton, not UConn. Already know how good UConn is.UConn won't be playing any road games in the NCAA tournament. Oh yeah, my bad. I read it the opposite. Thanks for the clarification. But Creighton is a good team, make no mistake. They have a good chance at being a Sweet 16 squad. Was talking about Creighton, not UConn. Already know how good UConn is.
A student also made a half court shot for like $19,000 in Gampel today. What a blast.
This completely blows my mind that they’ve won 4 nattys since the last time they won a conference title outright.Clinched a share of Big East regular season title for the first time since 2006. Win tomorrow and first outright since 2002.
They know their priorities! This completely blows my mind that they’ve won 4 nattys since the last time they won a conference title outright.
As long as XL is run by the state, UConn will continue to play there. They should be playing every game at Gampel imho.
