Why isn't the opener like at 4 or something? Offday yesterday and MLB competition at 7. If it's a parking thing, have the free parking on Wed or Thu instead.

Got my tickets to the game this Saturday in Section 13! I don't have high hopes this will convince my 9 yr old daughter to fall in love with live sporting events, but at least there will be junk food to eat.
Let's see if this becomes a stepping stone to a visit to Fenway, which I haven't been to in probably like 20 years.

If you wander out to the CF berm area, there is a little playground spot that may keep her occupied for an inning or two. It's how I have gotten my little one (now 11) to go with me.

EDIT - may be something to do pre-game, or if the game starts to get out of hand. I certainly don't want to take away from the enjoyment of the game, which can be difficult out there.

Get the BBQ.
I got...a crouffle, popcorn, hot dogs, and unfortunately nothing more because we left before the 9th. Now I know not to sit on the first base side for a 4pm game because the sun was pretty brutal, but my daughter made it 8 full innings before bowing out and she loved it and said she would be interested in going to Fenway. She said it was magical like being at Disney World...so there's that!
It was a fun time and we'll definitely go again, and maybe this time we won't sit next to the 39 yr old weirdo bragging to my ex's boyfriend about how he has a 19 yr old girlfriend, which was not only odd but also totally unprompted. I hope that wasn't @Over Guapo Grande !

Edit: how could I forget the cotton candy that was bigger than my daughter's head?

I was trying to pick you out, i actually started the game in the wrong section. Yeah, the sun was brutal on that side. I decided against walking up and down the aisle saying "Get your changer here!""

It is awesome that your little one enjoyed! I was sitting next to a kid who was celebrating his birthday, so I got a few fist bumps... I wanted to steal some of his cotton candy, figuring that he was so hopped up on sugar that it would actually help his parents, but in the end, I decided against it.

It was great fun...just the right amount of people to not feel overwhelming. I think that we will try to hit a Friday night game next time to avoid the sun because it was pretty draining.
I may have enjoyed it more than the last time I went to Fenway to be honest...and there was.a foul ball that landed about 6 rows in front of us which was cool...definitely the closest I've ever been to a foul ball.
I did like the first parking lot that we saw near the rink that was $25 and claimed to be the closest to the park...which ended up being a blatant lie. But the walk wasn't bad and we were even offered a ride by the Rodenhiser sponsored little cart thingie, but turned it down because it was nice out. Next time...get the closer parking which also cost less!

Glad you and the kiddo enjoyed it! Night games are also fun AND you can walk to the White Eagle after (don't take your kid to the White Eagle)

For those who were a little confused, like me, this changes goes from 3 ABS challenge and 3 full ABS games per week to full ABS challenge rules.

It seems that both fans and players have preferred this method and I think it was always going to be the kind of compromise we would see with the umpire union being like the strongest union in the world for some reason.

When do you think we see it implemented in MLB.... 2025 or 2026 (or later)?

For anyone who might be interested, the minor league statcast numbers for the Worcester Red Sox! I've excluded the fellas with less than 75 plate appearances for simplicity's sake... but let it be known, if I hadn't, ROMY would be at the top.

One thing that leaps out to me is there's only a couple of guys with BB%'s under 10. I think that's probably because of the automated umps, but it might also be organizational.

Also, talk about being on a tear... who the hell knew who Mickey Gasper was two months ago? Joining Meidroth in lustrious company of nearly doubling his K% with his BB%.

I'm obsessed with that hard-hit percentage. 56%!! I don't care how much the guy strikes out, if he can get anywhere close to that in the bigs, he's a major leaguer.
