This is because of the time zone difference I think. (California surgeon). Report will be out tomorrowThere isn’t going to be a report on Acuna today. That’s not a good sign.

Yeah, but is that knee a ticking time bomb?Turns out he is fine and expected to start the season.
@MLBPipeline
Reds top prospect Noelvi Marte has received an 80-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Boldenone, a performance enhancing substance.
Makes all those “what are the Reds going to do with all those infielders???” questions moot, too.Noelvi Marte suspended 80 games for violating the PED policy. That Luis Castillo trade is looking better and better for Seattle.
I'm happy about this. Hope he's able to crack the rosterJoey Votto gets an invite to Blue Jays camp, kind of hope it works out for him

It's funny, they were asking him about it yesterday on ESPN when they interviewed him randomly during the Sox game.I'm happy about this. Hope he's able to crack the roster
Should be a feel good story, playing for your hometown team
Does this increase or decrease his value?Mookie moving to shortstop. Lux to 2b. Wild times in LA.
It sounds like Lux has inherited Steve Sax's yips, for those old enough to remember.

Good for Mookie for being a gamer, but this seems like a bad move. How many guys move to SS from OF in their 30s? I know he’s a great athlete but there has to be a reason he played 2B and not SS in the minors.Mookie moving to shortstop. Lux to 2b. Wild times in LA.

I imagine the #1 reason was probably the fact that Jose Iglesias and Xander Bogaerts were already ahead of him there on the depth chart. He also wasn't all that highly touted early on. SoxProspects had him at #58 following his first full professional year (2012). He rocketed to #10 by the end of his second season, at which point he appeared blocked at 2B by Pedroia so they moved him to the outfield to speed him along to the majors during his third professional season.Good for Mookie for being a gamer, but this seems like a bad move. The Dodgers would have to eat a lot of Mookie's contract. If SS ends up being a black hole for the Dodgers and Breslow is ready to move on from Story at the deadline, wonder if that is a possible match.

Report: Giants place J.D. Davis on waiversThe San Francisco Giants placed infielder J.D. Davis on waivers, sources told FanSided's Robert Murray.
I’m guessing there wasn’t much out there so they decided it was better to let a veteran pick his spot releasing him this late.I had the same thought.
I'm befuddled by this:

I know they have a roster crunch, but I'm not sure waiving him makes sense.
He would upgrade a lot of teams, so I think they're hoping someone claims him and picks up his salary. I'm sure they tried to trade him but I guess no takers. I'm not sure those two sentences make perfect sense together, but anyway that's what I think is happening. If he clears waivers, then he can sign wherever he wants but SF is still on the hook for the money.Report: Giants place J.D. Davis on waivers

https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/03/giants-place-j-d-davis-on-waivers.html6:42pm: As noted by Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area, the Giants would have the option to release Davis in the event that he clears waivers, while paying only a pro-rated portion of his contract as termination pay. The club would have this option due to the fact that salaries decided via arbitration such as Davis’s $6.9MM salary are not fully guaranteed under the current collective bargaining agreement. Had the Giants and Davis had avoided arbitration, his salary would have been fully guaranteed in the event of a release.
Isn't Boldenone one of those steroids from the 80s that is ridiculously easy to detect? What could he possibly be thinking?Noelvi Marte suspended 80 games for violating the PED policy. That Luis Castillo trade is looking better and better for Seattle.

It's Gavin Lux, so I am sure he will get over them just in time for his season ending injury.I assume he and Betts switched because they thought/hoped the shorter throw might help him? Hopefully he can get it dialed in. The yips suck.
Huh, I figured he’d be on the hot seat after last year. I actually thought they might be a fit for Cora if he decides to move on after the season, not to bring everything back around to the Red Sox.
I suppose they could always have Varsho catch again. He's got to do something to justify the trade.Danny Jansen has a broken wrist. The Jays hope it is just a couple of weeks, but for now they are down to Kirk and some guy named Brian Serven behind the plate.
I really think they are going to regret the Moreno for Varsho trade for a long, long time.
