It’s ruining the game. If they are not going to have robots they need to take the box away so we don’t have to see how bad they blow it.

TEX needed one win in non-Eovaldi/Montgomery games after losing game 2 and they got it.

Scherzer looks like he is likely done for the series after his back locked up. He has a 8.79 ERA in 4 starts over the last two postseasons and that is with three scoreless innings tonight.

I’m not crying, you’re crying.
I honestly can't even see through the tears. I had no idea. Thank you for sharing. I too was an English major at a small Northeastern Ohio college that is a rival to John Carroll (Mount Union). In 1987, probably 10-12 years before Nicole, I student taught at Kenston Middle School in Chagrin Falls. It is a beautiful place in the rust belt and I remember the kids being so receptive to learning in a way that my later student teaching assignment in 11th grade never provided. I had many late nights at the Winking Lizard and if you have never had one, a panini is a real thing Jack. RIP Nicole and go snakes. Win it for your #1 fan.

Jankowski starting in RF though, I wonder if they discussed debuting Wyatt Langford?

DDB Jr. reports that it's very windy and the ball is flying out of the park in batting practice. He's been to a few playoff games and says this is more pronounced.

Duran is indeed replacing Garcia, bummer. Langford would have been ballsy, but he has probably not stayed game-ready.

I don't care how good a prospect is, you don't want to debut him in the WS after just being drafted.
He is older than Evan Carter, I think this is old school thinking and a bunch of the key guys in this WS are extremely young (Carter, Carroll, Moreno).

Put it this way, it's not because he's definitely not ready, it's in large part because they don't want to start his clock. Langford played 44 minor league games this year and made it up to AAA, it's not like he is in rookie ball.

Langford would have been there second player to make his MLB debut in the World Series, after Mondesi in 2015

It's not about being young, it's about having enough prior minor league experience. Not just college.

Yep, I might have agreed with that 5 or 10 years ago too.

But in today's game and in their current situation, I think TEX is making a potentially massive, franchise-altering mistake here, whether it's because they didn't keep him ready for this possibility or because they don't want to start his clock or even if they actually don't think he's ready. Time will tell, maybe they'll be fine without Garcia, maybe Langford won't be the future HOF hitter he looks like currently.

I for one am shocked that Bob Nightingale keeps up his perfect record of looking like an idiot for the past 30 years.

Yesterday afternoon he posted that TEX announced Jon Gray as the game 4 starter (they didn't). I was going to post it here, but then I thought 'no, dude is always wrong, even about the simplest things.' Scherzer getting hurt was unexpected, but still I laughed to myself when Gray came in last night.
