On top of that, people generally want to see more tennis and are going to get behind the guy that's down big. Those tickets arent exactly cheap!
They practice together a lot and I think Djokovic knows/knew exactly what it would take to beat him. Also Sinner didn’t really ever push him, and both were slipping a lot on the humid grass, terrible conditions.

He’s unlikely to give Alcaraz too much, but if anyone can execute offense for 3 sets it’s him. Lots of pressure in that first set, djokvoic is up to 106 straight slam wins when winning the opener.
