Yes he's had stars, but I'm talking about having the best team in the country. For example, the Skylar Diggins era in Notre Dame ended title-less despite having the talent to beat UConn in the Final Four multiple times, and UConn getting them back in 2013, despite UConn starting "Freshman Breanna Stewart and a couple of teammates who owe their brief WNBA careers to Breanna Stewart" (UConn absolute had the best team and deserved to win in 2014 and 2016). I could go back and pick over the top 5 or 6 teams in those title years and argue that UConn had the best team in more than half of them, but definitely not all of them. The Maya Moore years were perhaps his most impressive run of coaching up a team, beyond Moore and the oft-injured Tina Charles he had nobody of note, and had back to back undefeated seasons. Dude is not just a recruiting wizard, he's a team-chemistry wizard. His teams win when they're supposed to, and plenty of times when they're not supposed to, too.
Sounds like you think Geno is getting dissed. Not by me. Or by anyone else, i dont think.

Oh absolutely not. I'm just arguing he has overachieved the talent on his roster a number of times (despite also often having the best roster). So him pulling off a win here, and maybe another one in Cleveland, would be in perfect keeping with that.

If you were told there was an athlete who went by "Ice Brady", what would you imagine they did?

I'm thinking NASCAR driver but really there's a range of options. Great name.

UConn 12-point lead, but in foul trouble. two players with 4 fouls. 3 players have played every minute of the game, are absolutely exhausted. Refs aren't calling anything on USC.

USC goes on a 19-9 run to tie it. Floor looks tilted in USC's favor. 4 minutes left in the game.

If I told you at that point that one team would win by double digits, you'd have immediately assumed it was USC.

Shouldn’t they have chucked that last inbounds into a sea of hands past mid court in the middle? Inbounding it short gives them a miracle chance at a steal/quick three to stop the clock.

All of that was a mess at the end. At least Iowa won’t have so much size on them

After all those missed FTs, there was a moment where UConn was out of timeouts and threw it in bounds and the ball was stolen. USC had a chance to sink a quick three and make it a two point game. Alas, didn’t happen.
