Kidding aside, assuming rest and health, if you're tied going into the 4th quarter of a must win game are there three players you'd take over LeBron?
I get the subjective hate, but if Larry Bird were putting up numbers like this at LeBron's age and mileage, there would not be enough concrete in New England that would be erected in his honor.

Do people even really hate LeBron? I mean yes, in a sports team sense, because he plays for the Lakers. But seems universally recognized that he's a pretty good human being who's also doing incredible things for his age on the court.

F the Lakers in the fun fan rooting sense, but I don't feel any particular hate for LeBron.

That's 100% bullseye for me. I root for him to lose, but the hate stops there.

He certainly has an incredible level of performance for an athlete at his age. A bit of the Tom Brady "I now know all the answers to the test" kind of level of experience enhancing his performance.

Yeah same. I occasionally lament the fact that he spent the first 15 years of his career in direct competition with the Celtics (we faced him in the playoffs 7 times in 11 years, kind of crazy) and the last 6 with the Lakers, meaning I've never been in a position to actually root for him (I think I did enjoy him beating the 2016 Warriors). I don't know how much subjective hate even around here there is for him, especially taking into account who he's played for.

When Lebron buys the Cavaliers in a few years, I certainly hope it goes better for him than Jordan with Charlotte. In that vein, it's a shame that Garnett wasn't able to be a part of the successful bid for the Timberwolves.

Kinda amusing that his continued career success, postponing when he will ultimately retire, has also led investment entities like FSG to be unable to purchase an NBA team, and as a result they've missed the huge run-up in team value over the last 5 years or so.

LeBron has already publicly put it out there for Silver to allow him to have the Las Vegas franchise. Has Gilbert even mentioned selling? He took his company public a few years ago.

LeBron is an amazing player and in the grand scheme of things, a good human being. But he's an A-Rod level phony, a heartless mercenary who ruthlessly killed coaches, buried teammates and forced numerous trades in a cold and calculated pursuit of padding his resume and I will never like him.

Rusillo just shared a stat that the Spurs recover 67% of Wemby's blocks. If correct that's insane. A stop or mucked up possession is one thing but he may force teams to completely abandon certain shots because their expected value is so low.

Give Lebron credit for dragging mediocre teams deep into the playoffs; and he did square some of his karma by returning to Cleve and ending their championship drought. And he may have been 'cavalier' with his teammates, but he didn't publicly disrespect them.

IOW: on a pure basketball basis, he doesn't come close to Kobe despicable

Yea, Bron is getting a piece of Vegas. Don't be shocked when he partners with PIF (& they slap down $6B for it)

Bron & Klutch will gladly sports wash for the Saudi's.

One thing few people around the NYK are talking about is that Brunson has fallen off quite a bit over the last ~ six weeks.

I get that he is carrying more of a load due to injuries but its still a bit surprising. It will be interesting to see if he sees a bounce back as they get healthier.

Sick duel between Chet and Wemby going on right now. Chet with 19-3-1 and a block, Wemby with 14-7-4 3 blocks and a steal. Spurs up 69-64 at the half

My issue with him is that he seems to have accelerated the ´NBA is a player’s league’ thing which has led to players picking where they play outside of free agency and a lot of the ‘injury

Some serious usage concerns. Has taken on a huge load with Randle and OG out.

It's not great by him, though. Like, he actively is looking at Donte and slams his arm down.

Other players would get the benefit of the doubt. I dunno. I wouldn't be shocked to see him get a F1 after this game.
Actively looking? He was literally jumping for the ball. I'll eat a log of Klay Thompson's shit if he gets a F1 for that.

What other player does this though? He's not close to the ball.. he's not looking at the ball.. and he brings his arm down much harder than it would normally, on purpose. No other player does that. The only one I can think of that is close (at least post 80s) is Dwight Howard.. but even he tried to make it look accidental and would just bring his arms down at normal speed. Draymond sped his arms up going down.. it's not a natural motion.

He's lost all benefit of the doubt

But would be surprised if Dumars does anything

The staring at him as he lies there on the ground….not a great look there
as with all of the other things that Dray does on purpose.. he also doesn't look shocked that he hit him. There's no shocked look.. and he also doesn't reach out to try and help the guy. You can basically see him aiming for his head.

It's more fun watching Miami play their hack-a-everyone defense against other teams.. especially when it isn't working for them.

Edit: still frustrating seeing Butler get a foul call every time he misses, though.

The way he came down was not a normal basketball move. Arms would be staying vertical. That shit was intentional.

Joe needs to give this clown a heavy dose of Tillman coming up here.

Trying to channel my inner Chuck Klosterman here. I think it is "interesting" that many "blame" LeBron James for initiating, or at the very least, catalyzing the player empowerment movement. In any other field we would be lauding someone to increases the rights of workers and their ability to control their own careers versus the rights of management to control employee movement. I understand from a fan's perspective the idea of wanting to root for the same player year after year, to see loyalty to a logo and fanbase. I hate that I don't know who anybody is in college basketball anymore because anyone I root for today plays for Clemson, Oregon, or West Virginia tomorrow, but in terms of the rights of people to move to the situation that is best for them, I would think that player empowerment has been a good thing, at least for the players.

The scary part about Wembanyama is he’s putting up these ridiculous numbers while only averaging 28 minutes with a terrible supporting cast.

One of the big discussions among media and players during All Star week was who is going to be the next face of the league now that Lebron, Curry, Durant are getting older. It’s going to be Wembanyama and everyone else is playing for second place. He’s the basketball version of Shohei Ohtani.

I was all in on Wemby heading into the draft, bought all the hype and then some.

He’s surpassed my expectations.

With all the prior weeks talk of where LeBron, DeRozan and others rank....where would you guys place Wemby today as in right now?
