I'm not so sure the Heat are world-beaters. They beat a bad Hawks team and have been handed this absolute gift of a non-Embiid Sixers team.

They aren't and that wasn't my point. A lot of people thought they were going to fall apart after the Butler incident. They did not. It's like they did the opposite. I'd pick the C's or Bucks over them.

Then what are you even saying? A team with serious chemistry/trust issues could easily beat the competition Miami has faced so far.

That the incident didn't derail the heat. It was a game thread comment in a game thread.

I have to think prime Harden would have gotten Herro switched onto him and played him off the floor. That guy seems long gone and given Harden's historic lack of physical conditioning and mileage, I don't think he is coming back.
And this is why Morey got absolutely fleeced by the Nets. We all saw this version of Harden coming, and while the Nets didn't receive much help this year from the trade, a couple first rounders, Seth Curry and potentially, someday, Ben Simmons is a whole lot more than a washed up Harden making 50mil a year for the next 4 years or whatever.

So the Heat are paying Duncan Robinson $15.5 million to watch? I know his role has been reduced, but it is interesting to see him headed for a DNP-CD
Heat may be without Butler and Herro next game. We could see tons of Duncan.

That might be a flagrant 2 on Brooks, which IMO, might be good for Memphis. Nothing about that dude's game impresses me.

And there it is, Dillon Brooks is gone 3 minutes into the game, but I think it's the right call, and like I said, I think it helps Memphis. Brooks thinks way more highly of his game than he should, IMO.

That’s a bad miss on an elbow to the face, which is an automatic flagrant.
His arm wasn't even up, the contact to the face might have been about rib height - I don't know if we as fans want that incidental contact from a non-raised arm to be a foul, let alone a flagrant. Yes, I know... as written.

Wow, Kerr calling Memphis "dirty" in the mid-game interview.
Pretty rich given his team has Draymond on it.. wonder if he's ever described any of what his team has done as dirty. Kerr is FOS here IMO.

edit: or what soxin6 said simultaneously.

Draymond got elbowed in the face because he was reaching in and he put his head at elbow height. There's no reason for him to get elbowed there if his head is in a natural position.. I know this because I had my nose broken the same way more or less.

Kerr is quick to call things dirty and then complain when his players are called out in the same way.
Exactly. Has Draymond "accidentally" gouged an eye yet today or kicked anyone in the nuts? I'd love the guy on my team, but be real about who he is.

Kerr must be the only coach in NBA history with a bias for his own players over the other team’s players.

Yeah.. but that's not what we're talking about is it? He's calling other team's players dirty super quickly.. when he enables Draymond to be who he's been for years with nary a peep.

Don't forget Zaza...

Mine was a crescent kick... bet I had a larger splatter radius!

Who Popovich accused of “manslaughter” — which resulted in Zaza’s family getting death threats. Meanwhile, Pop’s own Bruce Bowen regularly did what ZaZa did (and worse) for years while Pop cheered him on.

But yeah, Kerr’s the only coach in NBA history with a double standard for his own players. Laughable.

We're talking about Gary Payton II getting injured on a flagrant two by renowned goon Dillon Brooks. I'm gonna say Kerr's not the only coach in the league would would be "super quick" to call out the offending player in that situation.

He's the coach doing it as of 15 minutes ago while starting Draymond Green in his lineup. Has it even been three games since Green's latest eye gouge? If Pop was trotting Bruce Brown out there tonight and saying the same thing during an in-game interview, I'd say the same shit about him.

I mean, I'm not denying the double standard, or defending Draymond, if that wasn't clear. Anyway, carry on...

That's fair. I mean, love it when it's your guy and hate it when it's not. Kerr is doing what works for his guys and it will probably get them a good whistle moving forward. It was a recurring complaint against Brad.

Yeah.. he just did it. When was the last time he's criticized any of his own players for being dirty? Because that's the point.

edit: saw your other post... I'm just trying to think of any other coaches calling out other players for being dirty when they've been covering for a player that's done similar on their team for years.. I'm sure there are probably examples.. it just feels rare in the moment.

edit2: I also don't watch as much of GS as you do obviously.. and I don't see a lot of west coast basketball... is Brooks really a renowned goon? I wouldn't know.

edit3: how did he respond to Draymond's foul the other day? Has he ever suspended Draymond for any of his actions? Ever called him out for the hysterics that he puts on.. even how he's handled fouling out in last series and getting thrown out in this series? Kerr is Draymond's enabler.. and he needs to own it before he criticizes anyone else.

That last charge call against the Griz, I'd love to have seen a replay - thought the GSW players feet were on the circle. Tough call (blocking) to make given the player was absolutely stationary... but it was close. Warriors just keep finding offense, I don't enjoy the Draymond show, but watching them it's hard not to respect them.

Edit: Bane seems very out of sync on offense, he seems actively to be avoiding shooting. They need him to be pressuring the defense.

If Desmond Bane didn't currently have the back of a 50 year old, Memphis might be running away from GS. As is, this game is good even if its not pretty.

GOOD DEFENSE BY GREEN! L.O.L.

announcers saying he's straight up while his arms clearly weren't

is it just me or do these VR ads not really make the point they want to make?
