Memphis appeared to have things under control in Philly, but the Sixers are storming back.

Ja gives me big can’t win a championship when he’s the best player on your team vibes.
He's the most overrated player in the league.

Edit- Jokic winning 3 MVPs in a row might actually make him the most overrated. He's top 5 but not the best player in the league or all time great.

Players to be the best player on a championship team since 1990:

- Curry
- Giannis
- Kawhi
- LeBron
- Durant
- Duncan
- Dirk
- Kobe
- KG
- Wade
- Pistons players
- Shaq
- Jordan
- Hakeem
- Isiah Thomas

Being the best player on a championship team is a very rare accomplishment; so it's always kind of a weird way to critique someone. Ja has a long way to go to continue to develop his game, with the exception of Wade and Duncan none of those guys were under 25 when they won either. I'm doubtful he will ever be in the same class as the names listed above, but that isn't really a knock.

We’ll see how he progresses but a Westbrookian career wouldn’t surprise me. Could easily see an MVP in his future but it’s really damn tough to be a guard and lead a team to a title. We’ll see if his 3pt shot develops.

Even if he improves a lot on offense, he's still Dame or Trae who also probably can't win a ring as the best player on their team.

Of course a team that's stacked 1-8, anything can happen (see Pistons). But it's pretty fucking unlikely.

Who is doing color for Lakers/Warriors? I tuned in just in time for him to go on and on about a non-call double dribble that wasn’t a double dribble and after showing the replay to confirm it wasn’t a double dribble went on to say, “There is nobody out there watching that doesn’t know that’s a double dribble.”

Yeah, I tend to agree. I think he’s an incredible talent but it’s just so hard to build a championship team around a guard, especially one like Ja who isn’t a great shooter. Memphis has a really nice young core in Ja, Bane, and JJJ so they have a nice foundation at least.

Jokic is the second best player in the league after Tatum.

Walker Kessler with 7 blocks & 18 rebounds

What's the spread between him and Rudy in a couple of seasons?
Yikes, Wolves fans have been completely abused
You have to be so careful about the young players you throw into these "All the Pickz" trades.

I can't imagine how a Wolves fan must feel with them putting all their present + future eggs into an aging, expensive, defense-first Center. Holy hell is that mind-numbingly dumb. Giving sports Executives gravitas is laughable, some are excellent, and some are downright atrocious.

The Celtics are lucky to have Mike Zarren. Wyc should bestow whatever $$$/title to keep him happy.

Teams are pretty good nowadays and not giving away guys under their control who show potential (bad Billups/Iso Joe flashbacks) but Minnesota never had Kessler in the organization to evaluate any more than Utah. This is far different than SGA’s trade by the Clippers in that regard.

Didn't the Celtics almost trade like, a lot of picks in the draft because they wanted Justice Winslow, but Charlotte didn't do it because they really wanted Frank Kamisky?

Danny has denied it, but there were rumors.

The Gobert trade had 10 different problems attached to it

I agree it's a different situation, but the point about not just throwing away young players (when you're already giving up lots of assets) stands.

Teams sometimes treat picks like cars that lose their value when they drive off the lot. That is sort of true, but those players still have significant value, particularly if they've just been picked #18 and haven't shown they can't handle the league or anything.

Giannis just limped off the court and the announcers didn't even notice it?

Edit: they did out of break, but man that's hard to miss!

As frustrating as it is to see the Bucks looking to cruise to an easy win over a playoff team without Giannis, it's pretty fun watching Miami get their teeth kicked in during a winnable game.

I know the podcasters and social media love the kings but god damn they can't guard their own shadows.

How is this going to work in the playoffs

And we have double OT at 164 all. This is amazing. Next basket makes it the highest scoring game in 40 years, and third highest of all time
