Bledsoe made no effort on a bad team last year (though also, he was fine by basically all metrics in non-Adams minutes) he was a very good defender as recently as the year before both by eye test, metrics and league reputation. RAPTOR had him as between a very good and elite defender from 18-20,
I put little stock in what happens to D when a vet is traded to a bad team surrounded by terrible defenders (especially in the COVID season) for looking at future performance.
If anything the abrupt crash in the advanced metrics makes me more confident he'll be fine, that usually means either a guy isn't trying or he suffered a major injury. Bledsoe's health is allegedly fine, he just looked around and realized he was the only guy playing defense half the time, and packed it in. Maybe his knees are going to be an issue, but until I see otherwise I think he'll be fine, he was always a better defender in a team concept than Beverley (wildly overrated) just saving the money would be good, but I think this has potential to do even more for LAC if he's even remotely healthy.
