That was actually a funny exchange between Buck and Smoltz. Buck got a genuine belly laugh out of Smoltz when he said he used to group hug with Maddux, etc.

Anyone end the playoffs with 8+ wins in a row since 2004? Would be 10 straight if Nats finish it.

Part of me wishes the Yankees had won the ALCS and the Nationals were doing this to them, but then I came to my senses and I'm glad the Astors knocked them out.

Because fuck them.

This is going to be a great story for the Nationals; their fans have suffered long enough.

Maldonaldo has been horrible in this game, and he came in in the 7th.

it also can't be understated how bad Pressly was. his knee OK?

Suzuki "is a stone in the shoe of Justin Verlander." He has been a stone in the shoe of the Red Sox too throughout his career.

Any non-zero possibility for the Yankees to the win the World Series is unacceptable. This is the correct World Series matchup given the matchups, though I think I'd prefer the Rays to be facing the Nationals (I like to see droughts end if the Red Sox aren't involved.)

I'm not sure how good the Cards were, but the Nats beat the best team in the NL and are about to go up 2 games on the best team in the AL. Pretty impressive run.
