Not worried, might be smart to let one of these guys be inactive and mend a bit, or just a PS move as noted above. At what point would we become worried for the game Sunday?
Started listing players then realized I'd have to list 1/2 the team including Brady before I got worried about WAS.
Nice having all these extra bye weeks this year.
They'll just blame him for not telling the trainers soonerHoo boy. Those Ghost haters are in for a rude awakening.
Carli Lloyd, come on down!

Belichick says he thinks the Patriots have a role for Richards. "We have a few things going on. We'll see how it works out."

Guess that tackle he made took a lot more out of him than anyone thought.BREAKING: #Patriots are placing Stephen Gostkowski on injured reserve, per league source. Story upcoming on http://bostonglobe.com/sports
I really wish people would stop saying this. No NFL team is going to give her a shot during the regular season without having her battle tested, in uniform and against a rush, in preseason.Carli Lloyd, come on down!
Let her kick FG's and PAT's and let Bailey kick off (where he might have to make a tackle).
Phil Dawson at 44?Breaking out the Ghost news with an ST thread of its own. The free-agent list for kickers ain't that great:

Janikowski to come out of retirement?
Yeah, Janikowski is in football shape. Pointed at both ends and round in the middle.Breaking out the Ghost news with an ST thread of its own. The free-agent list for kickers ain't that great:

Janikowski to come out of retirement?
well, at least now you get to laugh about all those gamethreads where people talked shit about Gostkowski and you replied "tell me what street FA you'd sign to replace him", and got no takers. They'll just blame him for not telling the trainers sooner
Have you looked at the next four games?I really wish people would stop saying this. No NFL team is going to give her a shot during the regular season without having her battle tested, in uniform and against a rush, in preseason.
It's not going to happen on the Patriots.Have you looked at the next four games?
(I'm not really serious, but I can't really imagine a better setup for her: very low pressure kicks 90% of the time for the next few weeks; a punter who can handle all the kickoff chores; and a team/coach who can keep the media circus at bay.)
Nope, it sure as shit is not competition related afterall.
FWIW, Patriots were just about average in FO's Adjusted Games Lost stat in 2018:Fuck! Man, injury luck not helping the Pats right now.
She’s a hundred and forty pounds. I can’t see someone that size going an NFL field in any playing capacity, especially a person who’s never played football before. It's not going to happen on the Patriots.
If a FG or PAT is blocked, she might still have to make a tackle.Carli Lloyd, come on down!
Let her kick FG's and PAT's and let Bailey kick off (where he might have to make a tackle).
Forbath was the highest-ranked & available kicker from the list I posted above:Kai Forbath had a terrible 2015 but really has been an average to above average kicker over the rest of his career. I'd go with him over Walsh or Parkey personally.
EDIT- Just saw the above post...apparently he was one of those in today
Well, well, well. Fry was also perfect in his time in the AAF, with the longest being a 47 yarder:The Athletic wrote an article about Fry just after he got cut by the Bears: https://theathletic.com/1161602/2019/08/26/i-can-play-in-the-nfl-why-elliott-fry-believes-hes-better-kicker-after-competing-for-the-bears/
Matt Bryant is a great call. He made 95.2% of his kicks last year:I think realistically, it's Kai Forbath or Nick Novak, but I'd give the Falcons a call and see if they'd move Matt Bryant since their season is imploding as well. Was 13-14 outdoors last year, so might not be a bad bet for a 7th-round pick.
I thought he was injured making a tackle. If so, leg stress had little to do with it. And I'm not sure I'd want Bailey injured either.I thought that one of the benefits of Jake Bailey was that he could do kickoffs, thereby relieving Ghost of some leg stress. Maybe that should have happened. He did kickoffs at Stanford but not field goals or extra points, apparently.
I'm not sure there is evidence that this is correct. At the very least, this post is making assumptions about the severity of the injuries that may not be accurate. The other unknown implication here is whether this is season ending or if he could come back. Adds another whole layer to the 'who to bring back from IR' discussions.
No evidence to back this up but sometimes it just feels like they are too focused on making sure that they always have 53 players that are ready to play (maybe allowing for the 1-2 week injury). Just feels like they refuse to consider carrying a guy that can't play on the active roster for longer than a 1-2 week period. I'd really question the value of the next guy added to the 53 man roster for a period of time vs. allowing more than two of Ghost, Wynn, Harry and Develin to return this year.
But what would you do if you needed a FG to win a game? Like the KC game in a Foxboro last year.I'd say go without a kicker and just go for 2. But there is no way Belichick is going to let the entire NFL see every 2 point play they have designed in the playbook before the playoffs. We have a better chance of seeing drop kicks.
I like Bryant because he and Vinatieri are the only 2 players in the NFL still older than me....yep I beat TB12 by a couple months...Matt Bryant is a great call. He made 95.2% of his kicks last year:
https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/B/bryanmat01.htm
As a bonus, Brady gets to play with someone older than him (44):
People advocating abandoning the one and three point plays are ignoring a degraded offensive ine and weakened receiving corps. But what would you do if you needed a FG to win a game? Like the KC game in a Foxboro last year.
