For someone with no fantasy or gambling related interest, 4th quarter action for the 1:00 games is fantastic. Are you gambling or watching for fantasy team? This strikes me as being really weird, but Red Zone in general I don’t really get unless for one or both of those avenues. I’m not trying to be a wise ass either, I can watch highlights if I want to see teams I don’t root for scoring.
Which comprises, what, like twenty minutes? For someone with no fantasy or gambling related interest, 4th quarter action for the 1:00 games is fantastic.
With the different pace of games it's at least an hour, so an hour and half with all the OT so far.Which comprises, what, like twenty minutes?
Wait, what? An hour? So 1 pm games are finishing anywhere from 330 to 430? Come on man. You’re just watching taped highlights. With the different pace of games it's at least an hour, so an hour and half with all the OT so far.
My ideal Sunday is the Patriots as the 4:30 start.
Search returned exactly one post in this thread, and he stated that it was understandable that Tiger had faded on the day in question because he was worn down. Then he made a mild comment about how ESPN's overhyped coverage of Tiger at precisely the moment when he was fading was embarrassing.Nope. He’s been banging this drum relentlessly for years.
So absolutely there was a game last week that ended after 4:30, since I was flipping back and forth between it and the start of the Pats game. The game doesn't bed to end at 3:30 to have the exciting deciding moments be then. You hit 3:00 and teams are starting to go for it on 4th down and managing their time and drives to tie it up and take the lead. Plus you're skipping all the commercials normally associated with that time of the game. It's fantastic.Wait, what? An hour? So 1 pm games are finishing anywhere from 330 to 430? Come on man. You’re just watching taped highlights.
I’m not sure why you feel the need to white knight him here, but your search wasn’t very comprehensive. The “breathless” coverage from Espn and “Baghdad Bob”have been recurrent complaints.Search returned exactly one post in this thread, and he stated that it was understandable that Tiger had faded on the day in question because he was worn down. You can agree or disagree, but unless you have something else, that is not "banging this drum relentlessly for years." There is another member who has been banging that drum relentlessly across multiple threads, but I'm not aware of anything other than that one post for dc.
Please.
The first segment on Mike and Mike tomorrow will be about how Tiger was in the hunt. The second will be about the implications of the wrist injury on Tiget surpassing Jack's 18. The third segment will be about Jordan Spieth.
I want a hydrogen bomb dropped on the four-letter and their pimps.
I totally get the disappointment over the lack of riveting drama. What I am sick of is ESPN in particular being cocaine addicted to Tiger because he is so polarizing and makes their hunt for ratings so much easier.
There are some amazing talents in this beautiful game. I'd like it if they were celebrated, even if it takes a little more work.
I put this more on ESPN; there are degrees of being compromised.
ESPN is a complete sell, and makes no bones about it. Forget the commentary, the basic news coverage is out of the old Soviet Union. If stuff is inconvenient or awkward, it's ignored (and not just the NFL -- I'll never forget their crawl when Tiger's ex took the iron upside his vehicle).
Tied for 68th on the leaderboard makes you “alive” in 4-letter parlance — if you are Tiger Woods.
So the bar is making the cut, 14 strokes behind the leader, after all the breathless bullshit leading into the Tour season. That’s where we are?
Everyone should be stunned based on the breathless promo during his warmup today, and some of the lead up to this tournament. Had to break away, scrolled down the leaderboard but did not have the patience to scroll 109 spots.
ESPN had a feature about Phil’s sad day. He finished some 13 places and a stroke ahead of Tiger — who trials 4 golfers, including Poulter and Johnson by 9 strokes, after 1 day.
But yeah, let’s hype the hell out of his prospects.
Yes, with the players nowadays active plotters.
The skids are greased for a three-headed monster in LA. The four letter is effusive over it, to the point of assigning one of its writers the detailed nut-and-bolts of it. Which is good for ESPN, what with Tiger about to miss the cut in the US Open.
Starfucker Nation.
His “That is a disgusting act” sanctimonious best. But hey, a golf tournament since broke out. A tremendous one. Without Tiger no less. Will wonders never cease.
ESPN clickbait.
It had an epic weekend even by four-letter standards. They Baghdad-bobbed Tiger’s meltdown at the Bridgestone yesterday. Today, the tournament does not exist.
He has, I think AR is just conflating him with Conigliaro here.I remember missile doing this as well. I think it's been in the major specific threads.
Your comment was clearly valid, and I was obviously not reading those threads. However, it's worth noting that you made the comment in this thread, so it's unsurprising that I would search this thread.I’m not sure why you feel the need to white knight him here, but your search wasn’t very comprehensive. Neither. I'm a football fan. I went to Providence College, which has no football team, and yet, I probably watch at least a dozen college games a week without a rooting interest. I don't gamble, and I have one fantasy team, and I don't particularly watch for those guys, I can check the box scores for that. Just love the game. I find it easier to watch golf via DVR, and get the same enjoyment skipping all of the monotony between shots, than I do football. Are you gambling or watching for fantasy team? This strikes me as being really weird, but Red Zone in general I don’t really get unless for one or both of those avenues. The point remains that your search wasn't comprehensive and you went ahead and told him he was wrong about dc when he was absolutely right. You jumped the gun here.Your comment was clearly valid, and I was obviously not reading those threads. However, it's worth noting that you made the comment in this thread, so it's unsurprising that I would search this thread.
Having said that, the bolded was uncalled for. Knock it off.
The follow-up video is one of the funniest things I’ve seen on the Internet this week. Dude plays it totally cool with the head nod to Tiger and then flips the F out when it gets returned.Suns out, guns out. Let’s do this.
That's crazy, I don't believe it for a second.NBC supposedly going commercial free the “last few hours.”
They have to mean the split screen with live action and commercials.NBC supposedly going commercial free the “last few hours.”
On NBC Sports this morning they were saying the final 9 holes. That's crazy, I don't believe it for a second.
Get ready for overlays and sponsors in the booth. That's crazy, I don't believe it for a second.
I'm ready. Believe me. Tiger's on pace for his first win in half a decade and NBC's reaction won't be to get rid of commercials. Their work during the Open Championship was brutally bad when Tiger was in the mix. It was the most commercials ever.Get ready for overlays and sponsors in the booth.
Yep. ‘Come and get me while I grind out par all day sunday’ has always been his bread and butter. And what, Yang caught him once?Rose and Rory look shakey. Tiger is not giving up a 5 stroke lead with 14 left. He knows he just needs to par in and he's pretty much the best at managing risk on the course.
Bryson is showing his good form all of a sudden, after a 66 yesterday.Suddenly it's an interesting battle for the Cup.
I like the dual competitions.
If Tiger wins, though, no one is going to talk about whoever wins the Fed Ex Cup.Suddenly it's an interesting battle for the Cup.

You're absolutely right, and that's exactly what the PGA does not want.If Tiger wins, though, no one is going to talk about whoever wins the Fed Ex Cup.
EhhhhYou're absolutely right, and that's exactly what the PGA does not want.
I think the opposite is true. If Tiger wins, more people are going to talk about golf in general than if he didn't. It's good for the game especially going into Ryder Cup week. You're absolutely right, and that's exactly what the PGA does not want.
Does this mean something or did you fall asleep on your keyboard?Ehhhh
No, what they don't want is no one talking about who won the FedEx Cup. That's why they're changing the rules. Of course they like Tiger winning. They just want his win to be winning the Cup.I think the opposite is true. If Tiger wins, more people are going to talk about golf in general than if he didn't. Oh.No, what they don't want is no one talking about who won the FedEx Cup. That's why they're changing the rules. Of course they like Tiger winning. They just want his win to be winning the Cup.
