My exact thoughts. What is Nike doing? This isn't 1996.This shirt Tiger is wearing today is all sorts of ugly, btw.
It does look like a something straight out of the vintage Agassi collection. My exact thoughts. What is Nike doing? This isn't 1996.
Good article on him here. I can't imagine how tough mentally that must be, no matter what level you are. The James Hahn quotes were a good comparison.Smylie Kaufman is so bad at golf right now. 12 straight rounds of over par golf, going on 13 given he's +5 after 3 today. He's finished last in 3 of his last 5 tournaments and is currently "leading" that race again for the Arnold Palmer.
I mean, John Daly has made 18 there. It’s a fairly easy hole for these guys, but I think I’d make a 20 on the 6th here at Bay Hill.
Making up 5 strokes is possible. And what is possible is what I'm focusing on today.Awesome leaderboard. Stenson, DeChambeau, Rory, Rose are the final 2 groups. Fowler 4 back. Tiger shot a 69 yesterday, enters today T10 and 5 back of the lead. Probably too steep of a hill to climb, but you never know.
More than that though, everyone else ahead of him would need to fall off. Tiger isn’t going to blow the field away anymore, partly because he isn’t that player anymore and partly because there is a lot of talent on the tour. Last week was a perfect week for Tiger to win.His lowest round so far this year is 67 and since returning at the Hero has twice as many rounds in the 70s than in the 60s. He'd need at least a 65 today (which would be his lowest round since 2015).
Not saying he can't do it, but yeah, I don't think it's happening.
I don't plan to leave the couch today.Awesome leaderboard. Stenson, DeChambeau, Rory, Rose are the final 2 groups. Fowler 4 back. Tiger shot a 69 yesterday, enters today T10 and 5 back of the lead. Probably too steep of a hill to climb, but you never know.
Well we don't know if he's that player anymore or not.More than that though, everyone else ahead of him would need to fall off. Yea, this. Definitive statements about what he's capable of if he stays healthy are hot take nonsense. No one knows and if they're saying they do it's because they're guessing with hope they can say "I told you so" down the line. He's such a rare talent and his circumstances so unique I don't think it's possible to project.Well we don't know if he's that player anymore or not.
He's going to need to get a couple of long putts to drop somewhere along the way, and steal a couple of birdies. If he just makes birdie on the par 5's, and the 1/2 holes he hits it close, he probably comes up short, but if he drops one like he's looking at on this hole, it could start to get real interesting. And of course, bogey is not an option unless the leaders completely fall apart.Tiger is -9, 12 holes left. 4 off the lead. Looks to be too far away. But still making a bit of noise.
Tiger had another birdie chance on 7. He's hitting it really well, but you are right, the putts have to drop. And that's asking a lot. He's going to need to get a couple of long putts to drop somewhere along the way, and steal a couple of birdies.
