Panthers-Falcons seems like it is the most likely candidate for SNF in week 17, with an outside chance of Dallas-Philly or possibly Tennessee-Jacksonville if Tennessee wins in week 16 and Jacksonville loses.

Edit: looks like you already mentioned this

Yup. Jags could still get a bye if the Pats or Steelers lose in Week 16 and/or 17.

Only possible wrinkle is if Jags @ Titans is flexed to that Week 17 Sunday Night Football game (that’s still happening right?) and the Pats and Steelers have already both won. Another obvious flex game is Panthers @ Falcons, although the panthers might not have anything to play for.
I always thought all of the games in week 17 were at 1pm and 4pm so no team had an advantage for playoff seeding. That could certainly be wrong though!

Edit -- should have taken the time to look it up. Looks like last year GB-DET was a SNF game. Sorry!

If there's no games with big playoff implications, I would love if they flexed Cleveland-Pittsburgh to SNF if the Browns are 0-15.

That would be amazing. (Un)fortunately I think there will be at least 1 win & in games.

Obviously all of this can change over the weekend, but at the moment Panthers/Falcons seems like the most likely flex to me. If the Saints lose one of their next two (vs.ATL, @TB) then this game could decide the NFC South.

If Jacksonville loses to the 49ers and Tennessee beats the Rams - both admittedly unlikely - would their head-to-head game in week 17 decide the AFC South?

This team really needed a bye. It would be nice if White and a Hogan could get back for next week so there isn't a month and two months of rust respectively when the playoffs start for the Patriots.

awfully close to JAX/TEN mattering. but alas, JAX is locked into the 3 seed now (PIT is not losing both of its last two games)

Why not Washington Giants at SNF? No playoff impact, 2 big markets, crap people that the world wants to inconvenience.

Waaaaay too many 4:25 games.

Yeah, given that there's a West Coast team involved in both wildcard races, that was always gonna happen. At least they've got all four one-seed relevant games in the early. On the bright side, this will be an absolutely great redzone day.

Nine 4pm games. That most certainly has to be an NFL record. That's awesome, definitely a great Red Zone afternoon and early evening!

Any early insight into when the Pats will play their divisional game? They’ve been in the 8:15 Saturday night slot a lot. Pretty much any slot besides 1 pm on Sunday.
My early thoughts are that on Saturday Minnesota will get the 4:30 Fox slot, Pats get 8:15 NBC. Pittsburgh get 1:00 Sunday and Philly gets 4:25.

That would be my guess too. Minnesota is definitely the smallest of the viewing markets. New England as always will likely be the biggest draw, so they get the Saturday nighter

My quess would be Rams @ Vikings (if Rams win and Vikings stay ahead of Panthers for #2) at Sat 8PM, with Pats Sunday at 1, Pittsburgh Saturday 4:30, Eagles Sunday 4:25

I kind of like that the NFL is going towards the soccer style of having games that might affect others on the final day of the season kick off at the same time.

Of course, if there were a crazy important divisional game or something sure to get big ratings they probably wouldn't be able to resist putting it at primetime. This was a relatively easy decision for them, in terms of dollars and ratings I think.

Looking at past 4 years, it seems the game hosted by #1 (and thus #2) seed rotate between Saturday and Sunday. But the early/late game times are based, to some degree, on market. Last year, as #1 seed, Pats played Sat. (Previous 3 years -- Den on Sun (Jan '16); Pats on Sat (Jan '15); Den on Sun (Jan '14)).

As things stand today, based on this rotation and market, I'm guessing Pats get Sunday late game, with Minnesota as #2 seed in NFC, hosting the early game.

Trying to figure out airline reservations, so any insight would be great.

Eh in the 2010 season the Pats played on Sunday as the 1 seed. It’s not a 1 seed thing. Pats have played on Saturday the last 3 years. I think Kraft likes it and pushes for it.

IMO the one seed should always get the benefit of playing on Saturday in terms of the extra day of rest.

It seems like Pats were on Saturday in divisional round the last three years because they were #1 seed in '16 and '14 and #2 seed in '15. (same pattern holds for '13, Pats #2 seed and played Sat). Same pattern doesn't hold for NFC FWIW ... but point taken about 2010.

I guess the good thing about no Sunday night game is that we get the full playoff schedule earlier

Dear lord would it be awesome if the Ravens shit the bed by losing at home to the god awful lame duck Bengals and miss out on the playoffs after Harbaugh bitched and moaned about the 4pm kickoff. Please let this happen
