Fresh for the playoffs! If he rebroke it they'd probably have to put in a new screw and bone graft it, and I'd say conservatively he'd be out 12 weeks if not four months

True, I still wouldn't feel completely better until CT/MR.I'm sure they already x-rayed his foot on site
Do you guys think it's as simple as more scar tissue being worked through? It makes sense if this is the first time he's truly let it rip. Knowing him, he's trying to get on the field as quickly as possible and might not be letting on that it still hurts a bit.True, I still wouldn't feel completely better until CT/MR.
If the initial exam included X-ray obviously nothing is displaced so at least that's a good sign.
Mason is such an absolute joy to watch in the run game; I hope he can get the rest of his play to a level where he can be the starter.Shaq Mason working with the top unit at RG today

Absolutely agree with what you have said. He is a mauler in the run game. A beast that reminds me a lot of Neal when he first started. If they can just teach him pass blocking they will really be set at guard for years.Mason is such an absolute joy to watch in the run game; I hope he can get the rest of his play to a level where he can be the starter.
Well they were able to do it with Steven NealOf course, that's like saying "he's so good at 30% of his job...now all they have to do is teach him to be good at the other 70%"...
Absolutely. The positive thing is that the reasons he's so good at 30% of his job (balance, strength, coordination, flexibility) should help him with the 70%.Of course, that's like saying "he's so good at 30% of his job...now all they have to do is teach him to be good at the other 70%"...

Cramp caused by hot weather and vodka red bull hangover after friday/saturdays off?hammy?
I know you're kidding, but I posted about this a couple of years ago and I think it's worth repeating now: Gronk is on the backside of his 20's now. I really hope he starts to take it easy with the boozing and partying, because 27/28 is about the age where if you don't start really committing to staying properly hydrated and rested, you're going to see muscle (or, God forbid, tendon) related injuries occur more often.Cramp caused by hot weather and vodka red bull hangover after friday/saturdays off?

You can get away with it a lot more in your early-to-mid 20's, but as you start to approach 30, rest and hydration start to become a lot more important. We all know drinking too much leads to hydration issues, but it also leads to issues with getting into the REM stage of sleep, meaning his body won't be given enough time to recover properly from his previous day's workout/practice/game. Over time, the lack of rest and proper hydration combined with the continuous grind that comes with working out and playing a high-intensity sport leads to overuse and subsequent muscle/tendon injuries.
This is, of course, assuming he isn't on some kind of amazing recovery-focused banned substance(s). That may help for a while, but I sure hope he starts to prioritize to the next level (in other words, thinking beyond just carbs and protein and more about water and rest) and maybe save the boozing for the bye week and then the offseason.
This doesn't speak to partying/booze but it does that Gronk used a different pre-camp weight strategy (although it also says it wasn't intentional):That must be a somewhat recent lifestyle change. If so, good for him for recognizing the importance of laying off come training camp/regular season. In the past, I've had friends that've gone to events he's been at that have commented on him being hammered (I remember at least one of these being an in-season event), but admittedly that was 2+ years ago.
The guy is one of the most finely tuned athletes in the league and has a team of personal trainers and nutritionists he works with daily. I'm gonna go ahead and assume he knows to drink a lot of water.I know you're kidding, but I posted about this a couple of years ago and I think it's worth repeating now: Gronk is on the backside of his 20's now. Just seeing this now. I actually wasn't really kidding; Gronk's by all accounts a pretty well conditioned athlete and it's just a wee bit suspicious that he was cramping (albeit at a very hot practice) on a monday after having friday/saturday off. You're of course right that he should watch what he does with his body- particularly as he gets older-the avocado icre cream and the 9 hours of sleep seems to be working just fine for Brady and I hope Gronk does something like that.I know you're kidding, but I posted about this a couple of years ago and I think it's worth repeating now: Gronk is on the backside of his 20's now. There you go--the early reports that I saw said cramping.Except he wasn't cramping, it was a bruise per reports.
