Sammy was a high school qb so all trick plays start with him throwing. It's stupid because all he did in HS was run. But they let him float those trick passes 2-3 times a year.

And they never work.
Sammy was a receiver in HS. Dallas Crawford of Miami was his QB. I remember because we recruited them both, had Crawford committed before they both went to where they play their ball now. Or at least for now, since Watkins is probably going pro.

This has always been Sammy's player bio, which is where I got that from.  I assumed he was in Wildcat more often, looks like it may have been an isolated gameplan.

ran the "Wildcat" in a state playoff game when he gained 133 yards on just six carries and scored three touchdowns; also threw a touchdown pass ... averaged 11.8 yards per carry in his career

Makes sense, though what an embarrassment of riches South Fort Myers must have had. You know, our D1 bound QB isn't good enough, let's have our D1 bound WR run the wildcat cuz why not?

Anyway, Gus Malzahn and the Evolution of his Offense is pretty mandatory read. He's a strange dude with a crazy wife, but man can he coach and scheme and get the most out of his personnel.

I'm having fun football withdrawal after last night's orgy,  and Houston is not giving me a fix.

Hope you're still watching!  24 points in the 3rd by HOU...amazing.

Has Dabo ever beaten USC? As bad as Bowden was he never lost to his in state rival.

Dabo won it as interim coach in 2008.

Bowden lost to South Carolina in 2001 and 2006.

(His brother Bobby Bowden had losing records vs. both of his major in-state rivals (17-18-1 vs Florida and 14-21 vs Miami) if my count is right.)

My bad. I was speaking in hyperbole and not factually. Dabo has done almost everything but beat USC, Bowden did nothing but.

This Go Daddy Bowl has had a wild final 2 minutes.

Ball St. scores a TD to go ahead 20-16 with under 2 minutes to go (after previously fumbling the snap on 1st & Goal at the 1).

Arkansas St. impressively marched down the field in about a minute to take the lead 23-20.

Ball State had 2nd and 10 from the Arkansas St. 45 with 6 seconds to go.  Complete a 9 yard pass and the receiver goes out of bounds with 2 seconds left.  Late hit pushes the ball forward 15 yards.

And the potential game tying FG is blocked by Arkansas St. Wow.

Ball St just cost me my bowl pool. I was sitting ready to collect 240, but I'm screwed. The others in play had Ark St.

Glad I watched the end though. Crazy couple of minutes.
