is the valanciunas thing a joke? i don’t understand
What I meant was the biggest theoretical mismatch on the offensive end. It takes everyone else out of the game before it even started. 4 min to go in half and they have 30 points….of course a lot is the Wolves defense, a lot is the refs, but the gameplan also had a ton to do with this. NO played their 1Q the exact same way, I posted about it at the time, and found themselves in the exact same spot. It’s jaw dropping strategy.

I gotta say, I want zero part of this Minnesota defense. Incredible intensity - especially with the officiating.

This is one of the weirdest, worst officiated games I have ever seen. They’re seemingly letting everything go yet have called at least 4 fouls just based off of exaggerated reactions where there was no contact.

Mike Malone may not survive this game. I don't mean he might get kicked out, he actually may be no longer living.

The T'wolves play D like the Heat but with better defenders. Very aggressive, lots of fouling, and the refs just let it go (especially these days with the new emphasis on allowing more contact on D).

Yeah.. Minnesota has been allowed to absolutely mug Denver and Denver has been called for a touch fouls.
Wolves whistled for 4 fouls so far tonight. FOUR! :D
I do have a dog in this fight too in Minnesota this series….and even I’m pissed off watching this shit show.

does it though? i don’t think im seeing any missed calls for denver
Depends on what set of rules you're playing.. there was at least one foul called against Murray on Edwards where it barely looked like he touched him... and the elbow/flop against Jokic.

i think it looks like minnesota is fouling more cuz they’re just really good defenders who get up into guys. and the shooting fouls called on denver have all been obvious ones slapping wrists and whatnit

One team is playing defense. The other is just complaining
One team is being allowed to play rugby.. the other is complaining thinking the sport was basketball.

edit: Minn is also playing very good D.

From what I’ve seen, they’ve been giving Edwards a really favorable whistle and basically no one else.

The next unfavorable call towards Denver I think Malone is going to hit Marc Davis with a chair

This is a defensive clinic. They're not showing anything and so much easier to play NBA defense when you can ignore the corner three.

When they left Gordon in the corner when he had the ball, lol. Like they left him. Didn't leave him open. He caught the ball they stunted so he put the ball on the floor and they ran away from him.

Minnesota would be a tough finals opponent, that said I’m still in favor of Jokic being out of the way.
100% agree with this.

He’s having a great game but I think KAT is such a dumb player that over a 7 game series he will shoot his team in the foot 4 times

Can they look at the replay during halftime of Murray throwing that heat pack? He should be tossed if so. Or if not, suspended for next game right?

Hoping that there’s a lot of “they’re better without Gobert” stories after this and Rudy destroys the team from within.

I just want the west to burn.

Agreed. The Celtics have a lot more ways to generate offense which would help to loosen up the defense. The Nuggets seem very predictable which plays right into Minny’s hands.
