For all the crap the NBA gets (much deserved) for the load management stuff and bad refs....

That was a pretty incredible game and finish.

Me after they rule the Embiid shot out

We got an embedded-Celtic clock operator. The clock went for a few extra tenths after Tatum's ball went through the net, and that was all the difference.
Does the clock usually stop after a team scores? Tatum hit that basket with 1.3 on the clock and it stayed at 1.3 until Philly inbounded the pass. Not that it matters given the outcome.

Went through the net at 1.6 or 1.5 though.

Embiid putting that in and yet not getting it, after everything he got all game, is just the absolutely perfect way to end that game. Just leaving the Sixers fans more bitter than a dish soap cocktail. Couldn't ask for anything more.

They got +23 in free throws and had a 15 point 3Q lead with an off night from Tatum to boot. Best shot they’ll have.

Absolutely. This game was super encouraging. They needed everything to go their way just to have it be a one-possession game after 48 minutes.

Two games against the Cavaliers in the next week and a half, those are the ones I really will be judging us by. I think we match up really well on Philly, as we have for the past several years.

I don't like to make a big deal about individual games, but without doing any research.... Tatum seems to have these no shows pretty often (not always) in big games.
in games against MVP candidates this season he's having some absolutely absurd stat lines, like averaging 35 and nearly a triple double. And we've mostly won those. There was some crazy list going around with them a month or so ago, I hope someone knows what I'm talking about and can find it.

It would be a lot easier if they solved this…

Like, it’s that predictable? Amazing… awesome… but… predictable?
I blame the pregame PB&Js. Dude must be feeling the bloat.

D'Amico posted a list in December. I believe this Reddit post is from January, and has this list:
  • 35/12/4 vs Embiid [26/15/5] (W)
  • 32/7/4 vs Mitchell [41/4/3] (L)
  • 26/12/6 vs Mitchell [25/4/6] (L)
  • 39/3/2 vs Morant [30/8/9] (W)
  • 34/8/5 vs Jokic [29/8/3] (W)
  • 37/13/5 vs Doncic [42/8/9] (W)
  • 29/11/1 vs Durant [31/7/5] (W)
  • 44/9/6 vs LeBron [33/9/9] (W) - LeBron isn't on the MVP ladder, but fuck him and fuck the Lakers.
  • 41/7/5 vs Giannis [27/9/3] (W)
  • 25/7/6 vs Jokic [30/12/12] (L)
  • 29/14/10 vs Doncic [23/9/3] (W)

You sure about that?

Seems like it went through at 1.6 or 1.5. I'm happy the refs put it at 1.3 but your opinion ain't the facts.
Yeah looks like 1.5, but as posted above the operator isn't going to be hitting the button right as the ball clears the cylinder. Perfectly normal clock operation, imo.

There's a delay in starting the clock on the inbound, too. It evens out more or less.

Thanks. Good to know.
College too, last minute or two of the game, I believe. Second half and OTs only, first half keeps running.

High school, doesn't stop.

Whoever said 60 feet understated it. Court's 94 feet long. Came from the other foul line, approximately, maybe a little closer to the basket down the other end. So, let's say 20 feet from the end line. That makes it 74 feet, less the 3 at the other end because the backboard's 3 feet inside. So, 71.

Somehow, Al had a +/- of -12.
By quarter, he was -5, -9, +5, and -3. As discussed in the other thread, Embiid was really having his way with Al.

Still, those 4 3Ps were key to the Cs getting back into the game. Certainly there were other reasons the Cs won but DGBS probably turned off the TV just before Al went on his heater. :)
