I'm skeptical of his body holding up given his style of play.  Also, as of last offseason, Colorado was a very attractive destination with an emerging goalie and a solid young offensive core so I don't know why he'd turn down $5.3 million while going to a team that seemed poised to make the jump to Cup contender.  I also do not believe he knows what Corsi is.
correct me if I'm wrong but I thought there were reports that Iginla liked it here and was willing to take a little less to stay if the Bruins could afford it, which they obviously could not.

And yes I know Colorado was and probably still is an up and coming team, but Iginla fits in better with the Bruins tough and grind it out approach rather than the Avalanche style of young speed and more wide open hockey, I believe.

Sure but $5.3 million is a shitton of money.

This roster is awful. He continues to fail at making any moves to help this team, and it's gotten perpetually worse. between the horrible drafts, bad trades and lousy roster construction I have zero faith that he can rebuild this team. I want him gone. Fuck this shit.
What moves do you think are available that are going to help this team, and does "perpetually" mean something different where you come from?

He's been incredibly successful since coming if you look at the team's results.

There's no room for correct semantics or sense here, Myt1.  The sky is so close to the ground and we're already squatting as low as we can.

One of the benefits of being short. When the sky is falling, I get hit last.

But hardest. Or I may have terminal velocity wrong. Not a physicist.

Seidenberg is a fucking statue right now.

This will probably end up as the worst of Chia's signings. They basically chose him over Boychuck as Seidenberg was coming off an injury-riddled season in which he looked terrible towards the end. I suppose Chia was trying to get Seidenberg at a reduced value, but he should have waited it out a bit more before making a decision. This one's going to hurt them for years.

One thing I know is that I wouldn't be giving up assets at this point. The defense needs to be rebuilt, and it's not something that can be fixed over night with limited cap space.

Seidenberg signed the long-term deal about a week before he mangled his knee against Ottawa. It sucks but tough to blame Chiarelli there.

He missed a combined 8 games the combined four years prior to the ACL injury, not counting getting cut by a skate right before the playoffs in 2010.

Seidenberg's games played:

2010/2011: 81 regular season, 25 playoff
2011/2012: 80 regular season, 7 playoff
2013: 45 regular season (out of 48), 18 playoff (out of 22)

Seidenberg played 250 of 259 games before the extension. It sucks he blew out his knee the second the ink dried on the new contract, but the guy was as healthy as one could be before the knee injury last year. Calling a season "injury-riddled" based off a whopping 4 games he missed with a hammy problem is extreme revisionist history.

I spaced it and completley forgot about the lockout. I know he played injured in the playoffs for a while and thought he had some injuries earlier in the season that led into the playoffs. My bad. I still think he signed the extension earlier than necessary.

I agree w/r/t the knee. On the other hand, I think Seidenberg was declining prior to that.
