What a bizarre end to this game.

0-4 FT and countless lost possessions before that.

If I had bet the Celtics -4 I would be losing my mind....

I think they can be better than last year in general but they still have the same stupidity in their bones.

How has this team changed from the one that choked those Milwaukee and Miami games? So far they haven’t really shown that they have.

It’s a fucking joke they couldn’t close this out.

Fully expected Ja to hit that if he didn’t fall over.

Defense was clamps that entire quarter. They a missed some free throws. Meh. Great basketball game.

Maybe when Rob gets back they will be up 20 in all these games and they will be choke proof...

Unreal last 4 minutes of this game.

That's why I don't gamble.

Did they not close it out?
And did they not win the series against those Milwaukee and Miami teams?

They won a game at Memphis and were, for most of the evening, clearly the better team. That's all that matters.

They did, barely, and then lost a 2-1 Finals lead due to excessive pants-shitting and excessive fatigue, partly from blowing games they had no business losing in prior rounds.

They need health first and foremost but they also still need to figure out the killer instinct if they are going to win the title.

Totally agree with this. They had a healthy lead with several minutes left and just needed a few buckets to ice the game. From there the offense completely stagnated. Same issue that plagued them last year and came within inches of costing them the Miami series.

And it's happened under three different head coaches now.

Does killer instinct help make free throws?

It sure stagnated last night, wouldnt try to debate that. But the first two games of this 3 game win streak offense down the stretch looked fine to me.
Vs Chicago, with 5 minutes left:
up 107-100...
scored 16 more points, had 2 turnovers (one bad pass from tatum, one shot clock violation.
ended up winning 123-119. So they lost the last 5 minutes, but more of a defensive issue than offense stagnating.

Vs Knicks, with 5 minutes left:
up 116-109
scored 17 more points, 1 turnover on a shotclock violation.
ended up winning 133-118.

Overall they are scoring 25.8 points/4th quarter this year (last year in mid november they were at 23.0 points/4th, by end of season they were up to 26.6).
Their 4th Q margin this year is +1.2 (last year in mid november they were at -4.8*, by end of season they were at +.7).
(*holy crap, that's really bad)
I think they will continue to improve as well, with Brogdon seeing more closing time minutes.

The two-minute report shows three missed calls, all favoring the Grizzlies (including the travel call on Grant).

Does killer instinct prevent these blown calls?
