I work in politics, and I'm completely biased, but whether you agree with me or not, PLEASE go vote.  Our democracy is stronger the more people take an active role in deciding the city/county/state/nation's representation and direction.
If you don't know where to vote, look here.

In other news, Sean Thornton is back with Florida.  Also back: Roberto Luongo.  B's have won two in a row, let's go for the winning streak.

Go B's.

Krejci didn't participate in the morning skate so I'd assume he's out. Julien termed it day-to-day yesterday. The rumor is he's still dealing with the hip issue that landed him on IR to start the season. It's better to err on the side of caution and make sure he's 100% when he comes back.

Florida isn't as bad as I thought they were. I checked some team metrics and they're in the top 10 in CF% and FF% and they have the best save 5-on-5 SV%, though that should regress. The their PP is a middling 14.7%, not great but not awful. They seem to be getting derailed by a league worst 4.10% shooting percentage. It probably won't last, but they're off to a decent start.

B's twitter quoted Julien as saying Krecji was out, so that's a secondary confirmation.  Lines in the AM were:
Lucic-Kelly-Griffith
Marchand-Bergeron-Smith
Eriksson-Soderberg-Fraser
Paille-Campbell-Gagne

By TOI I imagine/hope it's more like:

M / B / S
E / S / F
L / K / G
P / C / G

I've been very impressed with Joe Morrow through 2+ games.

Also, Rocco Grimaldi is in the lineup for Florida. Awesome.

My favorite Thornton moment was game 3 against the Canucks. Julien put Thornton in for Seguin at the last moment, a move I didn't agree with. First shift Thornton hops on the ice, runs down into the corner to drill Burrows. The building went nuts and it was awesome. It helped set the tone for the rest of the series. B's weren't going to be shoved around and were ready to punch back.

Florida appears to be a better team than in the past.  I thought that was an entertaining first period, both teams played pretty well.

Nothing beats the backhand toe drag on the penalty shot.

Yeah the toe drag was awesome. As was the roofed backhander on Timmy last year after he walked around a few guys coming out of the corner. Thornton has more skill than he is given credit for, in my opinion. I always thought Thornton had some of the better hands on the team and that it was a product of boxing/fighting. He can stick handle and shoot the puck better than most 4th liners.

Stability in net and on defense will go a long way. They're going to struggle to score but they aren't the sieve's they once were.

Tough play for Lucic and Griffith on the 2-on-1, both guys were on their off wing. Lucic probably should've just taken the shot, but Griffith could've opened up a bit more and gotten into a one-time position. Easier said than done though.

Missed the FLA goal the first time around. Where the fuck was Seids going? He was almost in the crease.

I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but the Florida goal was a result of Seidenberg giving up too much room because he doesn't trust himself to be able to recover.

B's are getting killed in the bottom 6 battle. The Kelly and Campbell lines are both bellow -6 Corsi. McQuaid a team worst -10 so farm, though I guess he doesn't have an OZone start yet.

In a related story, the Simon Gagne era hasn't impressed much beyond his first game in Detroit.

Bergeron line has been stellar tonight.

Morrow has not been as advertised. I expected a flashy but erratic offensive-minded guy, but instead he's been steady and consistent. And just flattened Kulikov.
