Unfortunately, Mike’s mental faculties have been in decline for a couple of seasons now. He said he’s mulling calling it quits after next season. Is is just me, or does Gorman sound a little disinterested/subdued? I noticed it last night as well.
I think age is just showing. He obviously still cares a ton, and really seems to like this specific team. But it's no surprise that he's taking a lot of games/travel off. Hopefully the C's send him off in style. Is is just me, or does Gorman sound a little disinterested/subdued? I noticed it last night as well.
And let’s be honest, for a man who has seen it all, calling a Monday night game against the Hornets G League team can’t be all that enthralling.I think age is just showing. He obviously still cares a ton, and really seems to like this specific team. But it's no surprise that he's taking a lot of games/travel off. Hopefully the C's send him off in style.
Whoa....I think assessment of his "mental faculties" is way beyond anything I said, meant or implied. His calls are accurate and clear. he just does not sound excited.Unfortunately, Mike’s mental faculties have been in decline for a couple of seasons now. Yeah, going out on top would be a nice thing.I think age is just showing. He obviously still cares a ton, and really seems to like this specific team. But it's no surprise that he's taking a lot of games/travel off. Hopefully the C's send him off in style.
I still maintain that the best part of League Pass is that we get to watch the goofy halftime entertainment. It's fun to watch the opponents telecast on league pass. The announcers are always floored watching the Celtics play.
This is awful. Give me that woman on a giant unicycle who throws bowls all over the place with her feet and head.I still maintain that the best part of League Pass is that we get to watch the goofy halftime entertainment.
I wasn’t trying to insult the guy. He’s been a Celtics icon for decades, in the upper echelon of amazing PBP guys we’ve seen across Boston sports, which is why this has been something that has been kinda obvious to me. The number of times he calls out the wrong player per game has increased exponentially since the bubble. At first I chalked it up to calling games remotely but it has only become more frequent since the return to “normalcy.”Whoa....I think assessment of his "mental faculties" is way beyond anything I said, meant or implied. All time team record of 173 (1959 vs Minn at home) probably not in play. But the next few places -- 157, 153, 152, 151 and 150 (various dates between 1960 and 1990) are.78 points. Seems like a lot.
It’s pretty fuckin’ bad—this might be the worst one I’ve seen. The best was a game last year in Detroit where they had some elderly acrobat build a gigantic vertical of wooden chairs and climb to the topThis is awful. Give me that woman on a giant unicycle who throws bowls all over the place with her feet and head.
The second half of the third quarter of the Detroit game, the announcers could have been confused for Boston announcers as they absolutely gushed over Tatum. At some point, they decided they just wanted to watch great basketball play. It's fun to watch the opponents telecast on league pass. The announcers are always floored watching the Celtics play.
Looking forward to the ridiculous road trip coming up. Will be a nice test.
Yeah, he’s unfortunately going the way of Marv. It’s not that bad yet, but hopefully he calls it quits before it gets to that point. He is still a joy to listen to.I wasn’t trying to insult the guy. Big Gorman fan here. A couple of times a game, he misses calls that he never would miss, like when he called the Tatum lob to Kornet two games ago a miss and a putback. Every great one loses a little bit on his fastball when he gets older. As long as he’s not embarrassingly bad, I’m OK with him continuing to do television play by play the next couple of seasonsYeah, he’s unfortunately going the way of Marv. I dont think he's close to "he's gotta go." He just doesn;t sound as much like he's having a good time as he used to. Maybe its a little bit age, a little bit not-Tommy and a little bit shitty opponent.Yeah, he’s unfortunately going the way of Marv. I'm seeing the all time high in regulation is GS/DEN in 1990 with GS totaling 162All time team record of 173 (1959 vs Minn at home) probably not in play. But the next few places -- 157, 153, 152, 151 and 150 (various dates between 1960 and 1990) are.
The I’m Rolling They Hating because it takes hard work to live large and be knee deep in PlayStation games angle was… something. It’s pretty fuckin’ bad—this might be the worst one I’ve seen. Yeah. Now it just seems like an opportunity to learn to run an offense that doesn’t need them. Completely bonkers. After last season I thought the newfound intensity and quality of last year’s team would result in them steamrolling through teams playing at regular season pace and effort. So it’s not wholly shocking to me, but after Gallo went down and with TL out long-term and the coach situation I didn’t think it would go quite like this for the early part of the year.

edit: I went NBA
I'm surprised at both the totals considering the C's game didn't have a 3P line and in GS' win they were 2-4 from 3https://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/195902270BOS.html
Cooz had 28 assists; Russ didn't play.
They took 143(!!!) shots
(not)Edit: just caught your edit...
I was scared for him for a minute.Kornet with the butterfly!
