11/13 Celtics vs Knicks: New York is Overrated

For the past three years I have had semi-mixed emotions when the NYK faced the Celts. I wanted fellow Dayton alum Obi Toppin to do well but for the Green to prevail. Hated the way that Thibs misused Toppin and was glad he got traded to the Pacers. No such divided loyalty tonight. Run up the score on these putzes.

This team feels like it can win a lot of games playing at about 75% of their potential. Which means the losses are generally going to be ugly.

There should not be a half court set on offense that doesn't involve KP in the action.

He can render Mitchell Robinson almost unplayable, because Mitchell Robinson can't do shit out at the 3 point line.

With all the continuation in the NBA it is hard to imagine why getting fouled while you jump for an alley oop isn’t not counted.
Are you fucking kidding me? How does that not count?
The entire world know it's a lob attempt, but if a player is fouled before he even touches the ball, it just can't count as a shot attempt. I get that.

I don’t understand why the ball is in Jaylen’s hands when you have Derrick White and Jrue Holiday.
Jrue is out.

I think the fix is to not put Jaylen out there with White and a double big. I'd rather see PP out there with White, force Jaylen into the 3. Just not enough penetrators in this lineup, which is why we see the ISO shit.

Brunson gets wherever he wants on the court. It's uncanny.

Lots of contact just being let go. Probably favors the Knicks. This game could get a little chippy.

loved jb in transition there; had the ball w/ a head of steam, no clear advantage in effectively a 1 on 3, pulls up to the side somewhat and instantly attacks the hoop (from the left side too!). good mix of in contol and aggressive.

Hauser feeds off Tatum’s gravity so well.

They need to figure out a way to get JB isolated against one defender more often in those non-Tatum lineups, not many guys he can’t take 1-on-1.
