This is such a strange season. Maybe this is the one where Beane's club goes the distance?

This A's team is strange. They don't have a single regular with an average above .247 and they only have one starter with an ERA below 4.12. Seems like they are where they are in part because their bullpen is incredible, but they're going to need others to step up, and they can't ask Hendriks to bail them out of every game, can they?

Khris Davis’ home run put Oakland up 2. With four outs recorded by Houston to that point. He hit it off McCullers. Who wears 43. 4+3=7.

Thus, 247.

The Astros are back in the lead: 6-5 with two outs in the top of the sixth, man on second.

The ball is literally flying out of Dodger Stadium. Every time there is a fly ball I think it's out and most of the time I'm right. BTW, not a fan of Correa.

and the Rays can't even get Chapman to be used.

Snell not able to make 3 runs hold up is mildly disappointing, too

Austin Meadows reduced to a PH (he can't field right now?) certainly widens the talent gap.
He was bad this year (.667 OPS) but also this was his first game action since Sept. 17. Margot didn't look good in the field tonight (even though he used to play for SD, although probably mostly CF) so Meadows will probably start against the righty Garcia tomorrow.

yeah I was surprised Margot was batting 5th. the guy is a bottom of the order or 4th OF on a contender, at best.

Rays need their stars like Snell to perform, 5 IP 4 ER isn't going to cut it. On the other hand, the Yanks are healthy and maybe peaking at the right time, and could be unstoppable aside from the Dodgers.
