“It's probably time to stop making fun of the Knicks (at least temporarily), they beat the Celtics the last three times they met last season and they might have gone even farther than the second round if they'd been healthier.”

“Temporarily” ends tomorrow. Destroy these posers.

Hahaha, I did say temporarily. NY should be solid if they stay healthy, but their ceiling is still almost certainly the second round.

The Celtics (who I hate like most of you hate their MLB equivalent, the Yankees) have possibly the best starting five since I've been following the league (40+ years), plus Horford, and have all season to figure out the rest of the bench. I wish all of you reading this all the best in your lives, and the Celtics all the worst. :)

Also this might be the hardest BOS team in any sport in my lifetime to root against, I really loved Porzingis in NY. I will find a way though.

Umm, you think this starting 5 is better than 86? 2007-08 is closer but I'd still the team with prime KG.

Yes, and to be clear I don’t just mean Celtics starting 5s, I mean the entire league. And if 86 was Bird/McHale/Parish/DJ/Ainge, that has always been my pick before this. We need to see them actually do it on the court, but that’s my sense (unfortunately).

I am super excited about this team and getting the season kicked off. I am traveling and may not be able to watch the game. :(

Hope to be able to check in on the game thread to keep a finger on the pulse of the game.

LFG!

I hope DW kissed the ring, by which I of course mean bestowed several lavish gifts on Anna Horford and received her blessing before claiming Al’s starting spot.

It will be very difficult to concentrate in the stupid meeting I have that will run to 8p and make me miss the start of this game. I may fake an illness.

Krush the Knicks!

This season is going to be so much fun.

The Knicks are a bunch of knattering knabobs. They suck and they stink and they suck.

Win please.

Here we go.

Of course ESPN is opening their pregame show jabbering about the LeBrons.

Meanwhile the journey to #18 begins tonight!

For those who have this figured out, what’s going to be the cheapest way for me to get the Celtics season this year?

* Celtics broadcast preferred for all games, if possible.
* I have a brand new, top of the line TV, if that matters.
* I’m in CA.

I live out of the NE market, so I get NBA League Pass as part of my cable package for an extra $200 or so per season. I’m sure there are other alternatives, but this gets billed in monthly installments through the season, so it’s tolerable.

Yeah, I'm starting cold with no cable package. Cord cutter.

Why is Jrue living in a hotel?
Wyc or Pags can’t set him up in Wellesley/Weston guesthouse or something? Maybe rent from a snowbird friend who’s leaving?

No cable package necessary for League Pass. It's cheaper if you just select one team. Last year I paid $15/month for it in CA.

You can also use streams, but they can be annoying and unreliable. For me, it's worth the $15/month but I also PM'd you where I watch basketball streams.

You mean this "Premium" package? How would I fill whatever gaps there are?
For the 4 Clippers-Fakers games you’ll be blacked out on I have no clue. I wish I knew. Will also be other gaps. Borrow access from friends in other cities?
It sucks

I think one team is like $100 for the season
