I don’t think the D has been too bad. The mistakes seem to primarily be poor decision making when pinching at the offensive blue line. Those mistakes have resulted in 3-4 goals against so far. That should hopefully be ironed out over time as they get more comfortable in Cassidy’s system. He wants them to be aggressive, but they have to find the right line.
They’ve given up 13 goals in 3 games. 3 ENGs. 3 on the PP, 1 SH. Of the 9 remaining goals against, 3 have come off odd man rushes where the B’s had a D pinch at a poor time, a 4th was the Rask fiasco trying to play a puck out by the half boards. I don’t think they’re running around in their own end a lot (other then McQuaid).
