49 is pretty warm for outdoor hockey, no?
The ambient temp isn’t really an issue - it’s well warmer than that for any typical indoor game.

Direct sunlight can be a problem, but not with a suitably powerful chiller (which the NHL will generally go over-spec on.) Then you only risk problems if the lines are too dark…

Not sure it is geometrically possible to take a penalty farther from your own goal than that.

The concept of the third goalie is an awesome part of hockey. Can you imagine some forklift driver from Billerica working a shift at his day job and then coming in to play QB for the Pats or catcher for the Red Sox?
